i bet pod would be a great live show. but nickelback has like 1 good song and 3 doors down songs all sound the same and they suck. yeah it should be a great show.... :rolleyes:

Well... P.O.D. Is a Christian Rock band.. and not a bad one at all..

Nickleback actually has about 3 songs that I think are pretty good... And I would go see 3 doors down.

Man Chip, that post of your was just kind of mean man... The guy is excited about this concert and you just jump in and belittle it.. I'm not trying to get on your case, but IMO that wasn't very cool at all... (NOW, I could understand if it had been a Rod Stewart or Barry Manalow concert that he was excited about ;) )
 
POD is christian rock?? no kidding. ONly christian rock that i knew i listened to was Jars of Clay...had a guy on our HS football team that ran one of the churches in town. He was kinda the spirtual advisor for the team and introduced us to them

Yeah bro forgot about VH road trip to Greensboro for me to see,Saw them in 79'&then few years ago with that new singer they had.Kenny Wyann Shepherd backed them

sorry you thought it was mean bro. i wasn't trynig to come off as mean. i just stated my opinion on a couple of bands. it's just a difference in tastes. i didn't tell rip he was stupid or belittled HIM in any way and i'm sure what i said is not going to put a damper on him enjoying the show. all i did is belittle nickelback and 3 doors down because, in my opinion, they suck. yeah, they sold a lot of albums. so did milli vanilli. so what?... and i'm not a christian type guy but pod, imo, fucking rocks.

and what, btw, is wrong with barry manillow? :mad: next thing you know, you'll be telling us that clay aiken sucks too... sheeeesh!!! ;)
 
For all of you not in the know....I'm pretty sure Chris is a musician (guitarist) So like myself being somewhat (yeah right) opinionated I will say in Chris's defense (but not my opinion in this instance) that as a musician one tends to think of ones self as somewhat omnipotent. This is only an ego thing among guitarists and not to be confused as being critical or opinionated (Yeah right again)..........Neil Young said it best "Keep On Rockin In The Free World" which to change the subject is especially true at this time when our Bro's and Sisters are dying in Iraq to protect this freedom we take for granted.......Just my opinion for the moment.....Peace.......Vegas
 
i see what you're saying vegas but i wasn't trying to be critical or implying that my opinion was law. i just like what i like and it has nothing to do with musical prowess. pod is not a virtuoso band, by any means, but i still like them. rush, on other hand, are all virtusos; noone will dispute this. but i can't listen to them. i just don't like them. so, i think it's just taste and not guitarist 'attitude'.

clay aiken is from my home town,,,,(I hate to say),They'd have to pay me couple hundred bucks to go see him,lol

No thanks iam busy that night,,lol.Too tell the truth i was pissed,but hell what good it going to do?I've been lisiten to classic rock sine 74' ,,,Before that realy my sister was a real hippy.First concert was Bachman Turner Overdrive 75'i think.. 15 year old pot smokeing little hippy..Seen Rush in 79' i think
Still got 2112 tape,,,,,Neil Peart must be one of best drummers i've seen.(did'nt see MOON)
The classic rock station in my town is same songs over and over,,,great group's,but damn
they are (programed) Hince in listen to another (new rock station),,but they do play everything from Zep,AC/DC to Kid rock,VDC got a few years on me he seen shit i dreamed to have.In M.S.G. :)

Come on Rip.......forget commercial radio.....get a cd/mp3 of your favorite local or not so local bands and boycott all that commercial BS. I turn off the radio and punch up a cd everytime I hear billybob telling me what a great deal I can get this weekend only at blah blah blah dealership....I think XM radio may be the new thing if you are willing to pay for not listening to all the crap that is shoved down the throats of joe listener. Anyway unless you listen to a local campus station or are lucky enough to live in LA where everything is musically is 6-12 months ahead of the real world (Read: money talks) You are a slave to the infamous (whatever billboard says we play) game. My advice...burn your own....(just like your sister) play and enjoy.....Vegas
