To fast or not to fast?

Hey guys,

I have been on 2.5 of Androgel for about 3 weeks and my doc. wants to test my Testosterone levels again. My questions are:

1. Is it preferred to fast the morning of the labs or does it even matter?
2. Do I continue to take my Androgel as usual the morning of the blood draw?

thanks,
J

No need to fast when checking test levels!

I should of clarified. I will also be checking DHT, Estrogen, and Thyroid. Does that change anything?

And do I stil take my Androgel as usual on the morning of my blood draw?

I do not think that there is a reson to fast for those tests. I believe that Swale suggests taking your androgel as usual. Just do not apply it in the area that they will be taking blood from.

I was also wondering whether it matters what time of day we get Test/Estro blood taken if we are on HRT...

The only time I applied my Androgel right before (20 minutes) I went to the lab for my draw, I rang the T bell at 1400. Normally I applied afterwards and was at 350. Gel on shoulders and sides of abdomen; must have been too close to the stick site.

Doc panicked, took me off T and started me on Wellbutrin...

Still looking for a doctor in Phoenix who understands HRT.
