Ideally you want a baseline lab then after a few weeks (long enough to reach a steady state) you test IGF and compare to baseline. I'm no expert here but that's my understanding.
The reason why you want to test IGF is because serum gh is notoriously variable. So even if you're injecting everyday depending on when you test or a number of other variables you can't control serum gh will be high or low. GH ultimately leads to an increase in IGF levels though and IGF levels are much more stable throughout the day. That's my understanding based on discussions here on meso from those more experienced than me.
