to much cardio?

It could be too much. Depends on a lot of different factors, including what your job is, your lifting schedule, duration and intensity of the cardio, and so on.

Yes, no, maybe so. I guess it depends on your goals. If muscle preservation is of the utmost concern, then you walk a very fine line.

I remember you mentioning that you wanted to lean out. You could always make that your major focus and suck up any muscle loss, knowing that with juice and muscle memory it will come back plenty quick.

I'm currently 17% bf at 230, want to cut at least 5 % by june.
does doing cardio pre workout, ruduce muscle

No. pre workout cardio depletes your glycogen and will kill your weight training session. Also, cardio after weights burns more fat because you're heart rate is already elevated and your body temperature up which signals the body to unleash the fat. I'd only do cardio and weights together if and only if you do the cardio after weights and it is low intensity, such as walking or very, very light jogging. if you're a HIIT guy when it comes to cardio, i wouldn't do weights and HIIT anywhere near each other. If you do cardio after weights, make sure you don't miss your 30-60 minute window to saturate your muscles with carbs and protein.

Fatty, thats a pretty big goal to hit between now and June 1. You have roughly 3 1/2 months between now and then, so the likelihood of dropping 30 pounds of pure fat with no concurrent loss of LBM is a very tall task. That averages out to a full 2 pounds of fat per week, every week, for the 15 weeks you have given yourself. I think a more resonable goal would be in the 9-10% range in that same time frame, which is still averaging about 1.5 pounds/wk.

Do you plan on using anything like clen/t3 or dnp? What is your eating plan?

I think u misread him. I believe he only wants to drop 5% of his bf so more like 12 pounds which should not require 6 intense days of cardio/wk

I read it the way Bob did too at first. I was going to say, why is everyone obsessed with 5-7% now that spring and summer are getting close? Girls like guys in the 9-12% bodyfat range! Unless you want to compete, fuck 8% or lower!

But...now that you mention it...I think you're correct Thick. If he wants to drop 5% points and go from 17 to 12...then I'm down with that, Fatboy. You can easily do that by June. Good luck, and make room in your diet for a Corona or two come May, dude.

5% would be misery. 10% is a nice even number :D

shit guys, i don't know. you can drop to 5% in a few months. just fire up the crack-pipe yo!!! :D

Haha, well, I know you're joking...but I never said it can't be done.

Its certainly possible to get to 5% in a few months (even without crack), but I don't know why anyone would want to...UNLESS they compete.

Now that I reread it, I see that maybe Thick is right about only dropping 5%, not TO 5%. Now the scenario changes and will be much easier to accomplish in that time frame. A pound per week and youre there.

Some simple changes in diet and exercise and youll be good to go.
