Tragedy in Spain

It's heart breaking.

I lived near the station where it occurred.

I don't have a great deal to say at the moment, but thought we could start an intelligent and amicable thread regarding our and our allies plight in the world.

I'll check with you all later, keep those families in your thoughts.

This happens and people wonder why we have a "dont negotiate with terrorists" policy. There is no way to negotiate or talk logically to a group of terrorists that willing kills 200 (or 3000 - Sept 11) innocent people and injures an estimated 900 more during rush hour. These people are nothing more than methodical killers.

Someone just mentioned that today is exactly 2 1/2 years since Sept 11. Coincidence or symbolism?

Yep... Al Queda... we get upset about people that scam money (and rightly so), these people scam other people, women and children OUT OF THEIR LIVES!

What a rude awakening when the suicide bomber that thought they were getting 7 virgins as a reward wakes up with Satan for a roomate for eternity...

I have a lot of family that lives in the heart of Madrid. Whether this was Al Qaeda or ETA it is deeply saddening that this sort of event is slowly becoming the norm. My family said that the mood there must be very similar to the way we all felt on Sept. 11th. Lets all keep the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

I would say we have stopped many attacks. They have done a great job in this regard

I spoke with my old room mate tonight, none of our close friends seem to have been affected. He talked a lot about a girl in one of his classes whose sister was injured. From what I could gather she was blasted with glass in the face and neck. I wish America was more focused on this, it's being covered in the media (though not with the urgency I'd like to see) but people aren't really aware of it ..........seems like we don't live in, but we are the vacuum.

So very sad. All of it.
