Trail running

I go hiking but wanna start running trails, does anyone here? If so what shoe, running or trail shoe? Different people are giving me different advice

I hike a lot. Last summer I purchased a pair of hoka trail running shoes which I used for hiking (theyre light and breath beautifully, comfy etc) and my observation is they do not last long, the soles wore rapidly, so I too would like to know if any of the trail shoes are better than the hokas.

Gotta let the dawgs breath bro!

The new Hoka Mafate X is a great shoe - honestly a bigger marginal gain than most PEDs (but those are fun too) if it fits your running style well.

Depends on the terrain. I got these for rocky terrain with hills.

For more less rocky terrain I like the Altra Wild Experience. The wide toe box seems more natural for my feet.,

I hit up the running store the guy seemed to know his stuff watched me walk in several pairs new balance 880 is what we picked..running shoe

I do a lot of trail running and hiking, and just wear my regular sneakers

I'm not an accessory junky or anything like that

You don't need anything fancy
I ran my one and only marathon in a $35 pair of Fila running sneakers, so I agree with this, BUT when I bought a Brooks GTX for some more $ the difference, for the better, was immediately noticeable ..Brooks a relatively cheap also $100 or so...

Late to tgr party but I have Altra lone peak that I use for trail running and hiking.

They are zero drop so that's a warning. Gotta ease into them. They are also pretty thin and light. Altras are known for their roomier toe box. I like the grip they can provide too.

But I'm pretty sure most main stream shke manufactures make decent trail running shoes. Just pick what feels comfortable to you
