U work out twice a day as in weights twice? No rest day.... I cant see you reslly training to full potential each session if you can back it later in the day and have no rest days... Also im guessing ur job has no manual labour involved

Twice per day, an hour a pop to full potential. It's the same as doing 2 hours in the gym, but a good break I between the first and second. I hit 11-12 sessions per week on that regime.

You gotta know your body though. I've been very active for over 24 years now, moving lead for two decades, and on last cycle, I added between 20 and 35% on my magical 3....

You are right, no manual labor in my work, but don't use that as an excuse for not buckling down. The Bulgarian Olympic lifters back in the 60s who wiped up all the medals there was in the games trained twice per day, 5-7 HOURS PER DAY, every day, hitting 14 workouts per week.

Know thy body and it shallth yield growth ...

I wouldnt call manual labour an excuse for not training... If u did 10 hours of manual labour then 2x 1hour gym sessions and then never had a rest day u would fuck yourself pretty quick

Glad it works around your job tho. Thats good i wish i could say that for me

I truly truly believe you would progress so much more rapidly if you took rest days. It is detrimental to not give your body a rest. I've don't it before and what I accomplished in 2 years I could have accomplished in 6-8months. I'm definitely not the only one who's done this either pretty sure the big man @jaymaximus spent the better part of 8? Years training everyday and then started taking rest days and progressed so much more, correct me if I'm wrong though Jay. I have no issue with the 2x a day but as long as it's built into a well rounded program. Your body grows during rest so if you aren't resting you ain't growing

Nope. Youre definetely right there. Rest days are imperative. Not just for body, but for mind. People think of rest days as a day your missing out on building muscle, but its a step toward another day when you'll be able to lift more and build better strength / muscle. Plus it cuts down on soreness and un-necessary injury. Gotta look at the long run.

But if I could give my younger self all the training and diet tips I know now I might be making money off these weights

Ain't that the truth man! If I could go back just 5 years and tell that little loser everything I know and for him to actually listen I would undoubtly be standing on the world platform during competition and not just provincial platforms. But that's not how it goes because when you don't know it you think you do and won't listen to the guys that are saying things that you believe we're blasphemy at the time but learn years down the road everything they said was better then getting a gold brick if you listened

Rodger, Jay and Kap,

You got great opinions, and your knowledge is well founded, respect to that.

For me, if I do 2 sessions of bench per week, I am dropping. What works for me on cycle is bench every 36 hours. So if I do one morning session and a night session, I do one morning session bench and the following night, bench again. Works fantastic.

Maybe it's the way my body works at the stage and age I am? Maybe it's my programming? I am a Bulgarian fan. 5-3-1, daily max. Little injuries and very seldomly wearing myself out 100%....the concept of daily max stipulates what 85% of theoretical max .

And I am PL, no BB and no accessory, maybe those are factors as well.

I realize that the wtf comment above was a bit provocative and I realize not everyone can work out twice per day.

But what floats this boat is exactly that.

Hope that explains, play safe, DQ
