TROY - A Troy man convicted of illegal manufacture of drugs, synthetic anabolic steroid, and possession of drugs was sentenced to three years in prison Monday, July 25, after telling a Miami County judge his actions were "stupidity at its finest."

Joshua Morrow, 41, was charged following a November search of his home in an investigation into sale and manufacture of illegal steroids. Sheriff's investigators reported they seized vials of suspected illegal steroid manufacturing items, firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Morrow was indicted earlier this year on one count of illegal manufacture of drugs and four counts of possession of drugs. He pleaded guilty as charged and agreed to the forfeiture of $380.

Defense lawyer Robert Huffman said Morrow had little criminal record and made the "horrible choice" of starting to manufacture and distribute steroids to his friends.

Judge Christopher Gee said he was concerned that Morrow took up the manufacture after a friend was arrested for the same type of offense. He said the steroids were sold to others beyond friends including a confidential informant.

"The stunning fact was he decided to engage in the same behavior," Gee said, adding Morrow had "a very significant volume of steroids" when a search warrant was executed.

Morrow also was ordered to pay $12,500 in fines, restitution of $125 and court costs. He will receive credit for three days served in the county jail.

Forfeiture of $380 but had a large sum of steroids? I'd love to know what defines a large sum of AAS in that legal system.

@master.on dude, you are literally a reporter of sorts for Meso. When a roid bust hits the wire you find it and stuff it into Meso forever. I just wish the original reports had better details. Might have to go digging for public court records for more info.

It's a political crime, the amount is irrelevant, it's the intent, you're not bowing your head when you see the prince's hat on the pole.
