Turkey for dentistry

Hey folks,
I am in the UK, and private dentistry is pretty expensive, especially if I want half a dozen new crowns, each side of my mouth.

Don't think about NHS, they only fix broken, and certainly don't offer zirconium or e-max etc on rear teeth..... That's if you can even find an NHS dentist.

So.. Turkey prices look too be around 75% cheaper, and with a massive choice plus short wait times.

Yes, flights and hotel add to the overall cost, but still a massive saving, IF....I can get proper successful dentistry.

So, anyone already been ?
I have recommendations for one or 2 in Antalya, but need more.

Were you treated with patience, time and care ? Or like a conveyor belt at speed ?
Ultra happy with results or total nightmare ?

Cheers

Its not really direct experience so pick it with gloves but a mother of a great friend lost her tooths and she went to albania and she was pleased with treatment and result but i dont know more tbh

You can get cheaper dentistry almost anywhere but you have to do your homework. There are so many variations of technique, equipment, materials, but if you research enough you can figure out if the guy is going to be good or not. There's a lot of people who will hype up a service or doctor but maybe it's not that good in reality. Again, the best defense here is to become familiar with dental technique and materials.

As someone who works in the dental field (orthodontic clinician) I highly advise against getting any type of Veneers unless it’s is completely necessary. Look into orthodontic treatment, there are various affordable clear aligner options such as Invisalign, Spark, etc. that are practically invisible during treatment This can be done from home and they send aligners directly to you. If it’s a tooth shade issue there are various types of bleaching trays you can purchase OTC that work perfectly fine. I understand if it’s a shape or size issue you may want to fix but consider that your are permanently altering you oral anatomy by shaving your teeth down drastically and are likely to have problems down the line. Obviously do what makes you happy but consider the possible consequences.

ps: Got a hair transplant done in Turkey a few years back and they did do a good job, just do your research on different clinics before you make a decision. Good luck and welcome to Meso.

In the UK, on our NHS service for rear teeth, you are only offered full metal crowns
Previously had one gold crown, decades ago, and one porcelain over metal. And 4 of the ugly silver metal

So my back teeth are a mix of those 3, and in my late middle aged life, would love all those replacing with zirconium or e-max a few shades lighter than my front teeth.

10 crowns in Turkey, plus flights, plus hotel
Similar price to UK private dentist...3 crowns !!

This is my dilemma.
Got additional problems holding me back from flying out there, but working in it whilst researching.

Thanks for replies folks

I see well that does change things, which teeth are your crowns placed on? when was the last time you had them checked? Also just so you know you can still attach braces for proper alignment of your teeth and on Veneers if you do plan on going through with them..My biggest advice is to try to keep as many of your natural teeth as possible. Also before any phase two treatment (as in Ortho) it would make sense to finish phase one which is fixing your bite using appliances like a Herbst or this appliance we use called Motion Carries; Class 2 for overbite & Class 3 for under bite (read more about it) only then should you consider rotating the teeth (phase 2) because there is no point in making your teeth look pretty without the most important part which is functionality. You might have seen videos where people get veneers and then sound like they’re trying to talk while having something in their mouth. Why? Picking a size that’s is too big & not resolving bite issues prior to it. Just some food for thought.
