Hi everyone,
I tried using the search function and found some info for relief, but nothing that quite matches my cause for this issue.
I spent a week in the hospital with an IV Catheter in my arm. I started to develop numbness in the pinky finger and outer side of the ring finger, as well as that area of the palm. I currently have no pain in the forearm/arm, but some irritation by the area in my elbow where the catheter was placed. I have done some research and it looks like Cubital tunnel syndrome or Ulnar nerve entrapment. Fortunately it isn’t affecting strength in that arm, just causing a funny sensation. I’m wondering if the IV just caused some minor irritation and it will go away on its own.
Does anybody have any recommendations for alleviating this constant numbness? I sleep with bent arms so I was considering buying a brace for nighttime and limiting cell phone use with the affected arm during the day.
Anybody have experience with this sort of thing? Can various exercises help? I’m finding so much information on the internet it’s making finding a solution a major challenge.
Thank you all in advance!
