UN trying to institute worldwide gun ban

Anyone hear about this? Apparently, the UN is trying to subvert the Constitution and trying to institute a worldwide ban on firearms. Personally, I'd sort of like to see this happen. It would be the straw that broke the camel's back and I think some good change would come out of the revolution.

Come and get 'em...if you can.

Why isn't this covered by the national media? I did a google search on the topic and the only places I found it covered were not major news outlets like fox or cnn. That's some pretty underhanded shit, if you ask me. Kinda seems like the media is trying to complicit in this bullshit scheme.

Grizz, If major news networks are not covering, how do you know it's not a hoax? Can you link any of the articles; this interests me as well...

I only have two firearms and neither of them are registered anyway. Youse guys may not realize it. But the UN talks about ridiculous shit like this all the time. I don't know why it doesn't get more news coverage. A few years ago they were discussing a ban on religion or the installation of a world religion. I can't remember which. They are a bunch of fucking idiots with nothing better to do than think up such insanity. Worthless IMO.

Cnn

CNN, Fox news, as well as the network news will only report what big brother wants you to hear and believe. For the truth try whatreallyhappened.com

Because it's published in the NRA newsletter. That's why I wanted another source. Special interest groups have a way of phrasing stuff to incense the reader and they misrepresent their opponents. So, I wanted a more objective source. No such luck. Here's a link.

All I did was google "UN worldwide gun ban" and many sites popped up.

As I think about this on a deeper level than "some dudes are trying to take my shit", it becomes apparent that this is a huge deal. If the UN were to succeed in this, it would mean that the very foundation of our nation has been eroded. The second Amenment is in the Bill of RIGHTS. It's not in the Bill of Things We'd Sort of Like to Do.

If this were to pass, then everything that we rely upon as Americans is no longer reliable. Next thing you know, freedom of speech will be outdated. Religious tolerance will be replaced with zealotry. Soldiers will once again be quartered among civilians.

I wouldnt put it past the UN to try to do things like that. Then again, I wouldnt put it past half of our own Senators, either.

Private property will be nonexistent... Oops. That one already happened.

Gotta remember, there are treaties that we signed yet we don't abide by them anymore because they no longer fit our needs. Just because the UN passes some BS like this (which I don't think is possible BTW) doesn't mean all countries will have to follow it. When's the last time you saw REAL consequences for any nation that didn't follow a UN resolution?

Like Grizz said, "Come and get em...if you can!"

Thomas Jefferson said "The beauty of the second amendment, is that we will not need it until they [the government] try to take it."

The UN will not succeed in doing this, nor will the US senators and congressmen. The NRA is too powerful and the American people will not stand for it!

Registration leads to confiscation....just ask the Australians.

I think that only about 40% of the American people will fight the system on that one. Don't get your hopes up on getting alot of backup...

I disagree.

Fortunately for us, that 40% will be comprised greatly of unrepentant, inbred hillbillies who will be armed with fully automatic weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if we had some rocket launchers and other explosive devices buried in the backwoods of Abalama either.

Speaking of hillbillies...where you been, Kayz? And don't give me that I'm working shit! Owners don't work. That's why you bought Mexicans at the flea market. ;)

On what basis? Granted I pulled that number out of my ass. But it was based on known statistics. Roughly 40% of Americans consider themselves "Liberal" and want to take away your guns anyway. Million Mom March anyone? At least 20% are undecided or absent altogether on virtually any issue. What's that leave?

edit- It is nice to see you back BTW. ;)

I dont' dispute that only 40% of the country may be the only vocal opponents of the UN's goals...but I believe that that 40% will far outweigh the other side. I don't think that the other 60% by default will automatically back the UN and ask the rest of their contrymen to give up their guns...I just dont' see it happening. So lets assume that it's 40% for it and 40% against it. I'm not a gambling man (well I am, but that's besides the point), but I'm betting on the guys with the guns!!!

Sometimes the minority rules the majority....we see it everyday with all the other governmental fiascos that politicians call "policy."

My dad was hurt really bad in a a freak accident and was in the hospital for 2 weeks. They thought they were going to have to amputate his foot, but they saved it. He needs some more surgery and some skin grafts in the future, so he's pretty much laid up right now. I've been running the business by myself.

And the Mexicans I got last year quit on me when I brought in the Haitians, which was a mistake because all they do is steal my lumber and sheet metal to build more rafts for their family. :D

Yeah, I caught the dad thing over on ASN. I had posted this before heading over there.

If you want good ones, you have to get Guatemalans. Don't get Puerto Ricans because they're all sorts of uppity about being US citizens. The indios of Guatemala would be great imports if you could get them. They're currently being assraped by the Guatemalans, so they'd be happy as a pig in shit to have food, shelter, clothing and more than 30 cents a day for picking coffee.
