Unsolicited Gym Advice

I tried to give unsolicited advice to a guy the other day. I told him that he might not need the lifting straps to bench. He said he uses them on all his lifts so the bar does not slip out of his hands. I will not give advice for any reason from now on.

thats a nice question,it happens sometimes, but it depends of the situation, if I know I am doing right, i,m just polite and says thanks but ignoring his/her advice.

I've only been training for 3 years, so 80% of the guys in the gym are far larger and more conditioned than I am, so I gladly accept any advice they give. And I'd never walk up to someone with a better physique than mine and offer advice.. like seriously what on earth could I possibly teach THEM - they obviously know what they are doing and are getting results. My gym gets very few beginners, or if it does, they come in later. I am part of the 4am gang, and nearly everyone in there at that time is serious as fuck. Big, conditioned, fucking focused and killing more plates than I can count.

I just stick my earphones in and try to get my workout done without permanently maiming myself. If any of them ever offered advice, I'd definitely listen. I train on my own - mostly because I just don't have the strength these guys do yet.

Out of 3 years I've had major setbacks thanks to car accidents, bullshit injuries suffered outside of the gym - hoping my luck changes as time goes on and I can finally get back to making progress again!

Some guys get results in spite of their methods, not because of them. Besides, you'll still get bigger if you're doing stupid shit like rolling your shoulders on shrugs or leaning so far back on curls you look like a Weeble. That said, I wouldn't give those guys advice either. While they're out for rehab, it'll shorten my wait for the equipment. :D
