UPS Store/Mail Boxes Etc Questions?????

not alot but just to have a couple of locations.

so again, i dont know iof i should have just gotton the larger box whre the parcel would fit???

what do you guys think about that? small or large box, same thing? except for the parcel being at the box or the front desk?

is there a bigger chance of getting busted if they leave at front desk or at box?

if you all recommend the largest box, ill just go back and get one....
also, i have it under my real name. would using a fake businesss name help at all?? i know it would be a little tougher for them to link you to it--at least they'd have to do a little more work...

-they see your name on an international pacel--they just punch it in and all your info pops up
-they see a "fake business name-they punch it in an it wont come out so they'd have to track a little more.

Can you go in at night and get your stuff if you have a large box and dont have to get it from behind the desk? If that is the case I would get a large box.

yeah, they give us a key to go in while it is closed. i'm thinking once it gets to mail boxes etc it is in the clear.(hopefully).

i guess the only difference would be getting it at the front desk as opposed to a large mailbox(24 hours a day).

what do you bro's that have a box at MAILBOXES ETC> do?? get a small box and get parcels at front desk or rent a large box and get parcels there--large boxes cost aboout 3x as much as the smallest.

Gettin stuff at the front desk seems fine. It's not like they are looking at it funny. Once it makes it to the desk clerks they don't give a shit in my experience.

What would be a problem is if it was flagged by USPS Inspectors and they are doing a controlled delivery. I usually get to know the cars in the lot.

I used to have an MBE box but the guy who owned the store really started to sketch me out, he would look at me like he knew what was going on. I only received a couple out of country packages which must have looked suspicious for the reasons I stated why I needed the box to throw him off. Anyway I let it expire since I started using in in-country sources and I figure the risks are less.

if they were doing a controlled delivery, they would leave it at your box and you could just let it sit there until you wanted to pick it up correct?

with this small box i got, parcel would be at front desk...seems it would be easier--they could just make a phone call as soon as i picked it up...

last question:
so as a sole proprietor, you can have a "business name" without a tax ID number???

yes, sole proprietors aren't taxed as companies so they don't need separate tax id numbers.

A few points:

- There's really no such thing as a 'fake' business. You can have many businesses and for that matter different psuedonames as long as you do not have intent to defraud.

- USPS and MBE require 2 forms of ID, one of which is picture, so the addy is traceable by LE to you, but you may have some protection listing it as your business. i mean just because someone sends you something doesn't mean you ordered it....

- BP aren't you listing stuff in the classifieds??? You're using a proxy server here right?

- I think a huge benefit to a box is to pick up your packs after hours without any human interaction.

BIGKARCH-

yes, 30 minutes for your telephonic search warrant, I have seen it happen in 15 minutes. And they give them the go ahead over the police radio's BEFORE the paper warrant ever shows up. AS long as one was signed at the courthouse, it doesnt need to be at the residence for them to search as long as the cops know its on its way.

You are right, probable cause, nexus, and "alledged" wrong doing. They dont have the "nexus" yet because they only think they know what you are doing. (lots of envelopes with $$ and out of country packs going to same place) Hence the search warrant to finally get that last little bit of information they need to have a SOLID case against you. But if you use your head, and have things figured out ahead of time, you can NOT get certain packages that you know are hot and NOT give them the Nexus they are looking for. Hence, you stay a FREE MAN. :)

yes, fake ID's are illegal and possibly a felony, but ONLY if you get caught and ONLY if they can prove it was YOU, and you did it Knowingly and willingly.

If you use the fake ID correct, they cant prove shit!! Trust me, I have done it :D

""BEEFARMER, It is a bit more complicated than that. They dont actually get on a cb radio for a search warrant. At the least, they get what we call a telephonic search warrant. that alone can take some time, but seen them ok'd by the judge in about a half hour. They have to have probable cause to get the warrant in the first place and prove a nexus between the pack and illegal wrong doing in your house and personal affects. If this is the case, they had all the info to begin with and already have the search warrant. This scenario is less likey though.

Also using a fake name in the usps system is a felony.""

"Also using a fake name in the usps system is a felony.""

how about using a fake name with a private courier?? i havent dont it but my source did...good thing they just left it at my doorstep b/c i hardly look like a white person--i look more like a Juan or a Pedro, LOL!)

I agree...I've picked up stuff at the desk at MBE many times and no one seems to care....you'll know who is an employee there, and I generally make friends with the people behind the desk by being polite and non-sketchy.

Just a little FYI. In my state the postal inspectors drive rental cars and switch them every month, look at the tags on cars at the rental lots. Notice how they are all similar ? Mostly the expiration decals. So if you feel somethings not right, look around for several of those cars in the lot. Especially if they are occupied. May just be the man waiting for you.

of course you have to show ID to get a box!! he, ha, haa

But some PO XEROX the ID to keep on file, and some DONT. Hence, no way you can get caught with a FAKE ID.
