Upset with my Endo

I think I'll be one of the few to rage from lack of steroids. I had an endo appointment today. I thought he was finally going to write me out a prescription for androgel...instead he wants to test my testosterone levels again. This is the SEVENTH time. He said that since I have low levels of SHBG that my bioavailable testosterone levels are most likely fine and thus replacement therapy is probably unnecessary. He also said that since my semen came back fine, aside from decreased motility, that it shows my hormonal system is working well.

He also refused to test estradiol (or many of the other hormones) to establish a baseline per SWALE's "A Recipe for Success" as he feels it is uneccesary.

I'm almost tempted to start treating myself and just have bloodwork done to monitor everything.

Go find a new Dr. don't mess with doing this on your own it is not in your best interst. I hear this all the time from men all over the world so make it your next job to find a good Dr. it does not have to be and Endo they are the worst for TRT.

I would LOVE to see Swale...but I live in Southern California, so it's a bit incoveniant for me to make a trip to see him. I wish I could get on his protocol so that I can finally feel normal.

Getting a semen sample is just about the worst test you can endure....lol. Women think the OBGYN is bad...Basically you have to go to the lab, they hand you a cup, you walk into the bathroom and do your deal, and then hand the cup to the receptionist who is often female. Quite an enjoyable experience.

The sample has to be assessed within 30 minutes, so delivering the sample usually isn't an option.

I agree with Phil. Self-treatment should be a last resort. In short, make sure you have a prescription for everything that you plan to use. Getting known-good non-blackmarket stuff offers a lot of piece of mind. The new laws can get you into big trouble if you possess any form of injectible Test...reglardless if it is for HRT or not.

Well, I'm pretty sure I could get a doctor to prescribe test or androgel...as my test levels are extremely low especially for my age. But as far as HCG and Arimidex (if neccessary), most doctors appear to be pretty resistant. They're pretty cheap and can be bought as 'research supplies' easily.

So. Cal. is teaming with HRT/TRT docs. Why waste your time with a conventional endo?
http://ehealthspan.com/ this is Dr. Ron Rothenberg

http://home.earthlink.net/~gordonmd/altmed/markl_.htm this is Dr. MarkGordon

they are both excellant and both know SWALE and are familiar with his protocols.

Is there any way I can get this covered under insurance? I'm a student studying kinesiology...and my funds are pretty low.
