Sick of freaken pressing the cunt thru a 22 with a syringes wondering if i usse a vacuum filter and pump it thru the filter with a hand pump can i just remove the lit pull it out with a syringe and pump it in to the vial or will that unsterilze the gear if i take off the top part and let air effect it cheers

I am currently a syringe filter user. I have wondered about the filtering systems and that whole process myself. I dislike using sterile vials because you end up with a puncture in your vial that could potentially lead to contamination as it sits waiting for me to run that cycle.

The expense of a good setup and the fact that the environment needs to be extremely more sterile than just using sterile vials and syringe filters has stopped me from going any further. I don't really make that much product since it's just for my personal use, but eventually I'd likento get set up for vacuum filtering and crimping my own vials. Hopefully you'll get some good info so I can benefit from it as well.

grab an ethanol/alcohol lamp off amazon to create an updraft around the local area

also if you can't suck up everything the first time, one could flame the needle to (re)sterilize it (or just throw on a new needle since they're incredible cheap)

if you're looking to really up your "homebrew game" one could purchase a bunsen burner setup in place of the ethanol lamp; this setup also allows for relatively easy testing of melting points

yes thats what i assumed you were using. as long as you practice standard sterile technique you should be fine.

the flame will create an updraft that should prevent any unwanted bacteria from falling down into your uncapped filtered gear

as i said earlier, change the needle or sterilize the old needle after drawing and transferring into the sterile vial

You're going from a sterile container, into a sterile needle, then into a sterile vial. Won't the BA help keep it sterile anyway?

wondering also if i wanna transfer the gear can i just open the ruber gap put the ger then reclamp?

Definitely over thinking it.
The BA will keep it steril

Just make sure your area is clean and sterile. I like the up draft idea. Have you ever cleaned all your area, wiped it all down, and get ready to work only to have the light shine in from a window and you see all the shit floating around in the air? We have 2 cats and two dogs, against my wishes, so I'm too scared to try the full scale sterilization, crimp my own vials process. I don't trust that I could clean any place in my work area good enough. You can hardly move without stirring up dog hair, cat hair, dust, etc.

I'm trying to learn about this process myself, and this is what I gather:
first you would have to find the appropriate media bottle that will fit your filter. of course sterilize it. then filter.Screenshot_20160903-121932.png
after filtering they have these caps that fit onto your media bottle, with rubber to draw from.

I don't think the cap is sterile so sterilize it as well. thanks just draw from the media bottle and inject into your sterile vials. I see upto 60 cc syringe on gpz, so you wouldn't have to keep withdrawing from the media bottle for every vial.
this of course, as opposed to just sticking a syringe inside the media bottle and sucking it out.
thats how I would do it, in theory, I have never homebrewed.

I made a contraption years ago that used a vacuum pump and filter syringes to filter directly in to sealed sterile vials. I made a stand out of pvc pipe and a plank. A sealed sterile vial fits perfectly in a 1inch pvc pipe hole. I believe it was 1inch. The plank was bendable and I drilled a small hole big enough to only fit the plastic part of a needle. Two needles. One for the vacuum needle one for the product needle. Just play around making a stand. The 60cc syringe would sit on top of plank and needle fit through the hole and in to the vial stopper. I could fill the syringe with product as it emptied. The hose from the vacuum pump had a syringe glued into one end and I could replace needle every time I used it. This needle was the vacuum needle and fit through the other hole on the plank and into the vial stopper. I could bend the plank a little upwards and the needles would come out and I could replace vial with an empty when the other was filled. Anyways, use your imagination and you can come up with some ideas.
