Ventolin Albuterol inhaler

They may say we haven’t seen her in X amount of time but briefly explain your insurance predicament since I can’t imagine a HCP would deny such a request for an established patient, esp a child!

My asthma doc used to get me sample reacue inhalers quite often. Not sure how often the pharma reps are dropping them off anymore. Worth a shot.

that price difference tho $55 at the pharmacy vs $5 something at adc. the real price of shit and adc still turns a profit

Reps can not provide gifts/samples anymore, not even a free pencil.

Say what, bc “gifts” regardless of how that is defined implies a quid pro quo return and are forbidden on professional and ethical grounds and may be illegal in some instances, however DRUG SAMPLES are legal and
ethical if the intent is to provide PATIENT ACCESS to medications they would not normallly have bc of the financial burden.

However bc some 99% of drug samples
involve TM rather than generic compounds they certainly can modify
physician prescribing patterns and for this reason are considered unethical in many professional circles.

I double checked and you are correct. The organization I was recently employed with had forbidden medical practitioners from accepting free samples, probably due to the ethical concerns.

IMO if a “sales pitch” must be heard to receive samples find another Doc.

Yet if the Drug Rep is willing to leave samples and their “supportive literature” with the gals up front I’ve no problem with the practice.

Should docs accept donuts or pizza for their office staff or pens with a drugs name on it or attend a $100 / plate dinner all paid for by big Pharma
probably not IMO.

Those are little more than NORMAL SALINE fella.

As a follow up did your Docs call in a refill for your daughter CA?
Yes Doc i know it's not normal saline... and YES, they did call it in as a "courtesy" till i get squared away.

Perhaps not but if it's being used as a diluent for home "inhalation or breathing machines" (AKA a nebulizer) the contents can vary from bacteriostatic water to normal saline.

I only mention this should you get into a "bind" and run out, you'll understand what can be used as a temporizing measure CA. It's also important the diluents are STERILE bc bacteria can adhere to vaporized droplets and could result in a pulmonary infection, at least theoretically.

To find out what diluent is being used, simply ask the Pharmacist or your Doc
