Vitamin D-2 50,000 units and Thyroid connection?..

In the three years since I started supplementing with D3, I havent noticed feeling any different one way or another. The most noticeable benefit I've had is that I havent caught a cold or the flu in all that time. Prior to supping, I was good for at least 2 colds every year with one of them knocking me on my ass for days.

-hmmm... were you low when you started or just supplementing and in normal range?

Low. My level was in the teens; I dont remember the exact value.

My understanding is that one of the main benefits of having a vit D level in the 50s or 60s is that it greatly improves your immunity. I'm not the only person I know who no longer catches a cold now that I'm taking D3. So it isnt so much that you feel better, it's that you arent as prone to catching something

Doc has you on 50,000IU 3x week?

He started me at 50,000IU once a week for 4-weeks (prescription as well) and then once a month, have you noticed any positive or negative effects?

How are you feeling so far?

I picked up my script yesterday. Took the first 50000 today. I have a bit of a cold right now and didn't sleep as well last night. So I can't say if I feel anything out of the ordinary from the large dose. I'll keep you informed.

There is no ratio, AFAIK. You only want to overcome a deficiency. If you take 300 to 450 mg/day, in time the deficiency will be gone and then you continue to take the same dose for maintenance.

Dietary Magnesium and C-reactive Protein Levels

Again, you may not necessarily feel better, but it has a large variety of metabolic benefits. Some 300+ enzymes use magnesium as a cofactor; it helps regulate potassium status; it's a calcium channel blocker (where do you think Pharma got the idea from since they cant patent a mineral?), helping blood pressure stay down and blood vessels stay pliable; it builds bones, and; as you see above, it is anti-inflammatory.
