I always wondered what "da gov'a'na of california" used to cycle when he competed? Honestly, I think he looked better back then to what Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman look like today. Arnold looked like a true warrior...guys now a days look like freaks!!!

Personally, I prefer the look of the 1965-1985 bodybuilders. The look of the great bodybuilders of that era is what I aspire to. Their AAS usage was moderate compared to the pro bodybuilders of today and without the GH and IGF, their midsection was ideal, as compared to the bloated out guts of today.

Most of the bodybuilders of the early '70's favored primobolan and dbol, that was supposedly Arnold's favorite combo. Here are 2 of my favorite pic's of Arnold.

Same as what is used today.....Test, Deca, Wiiny, D-ball and Primo. Just lower dosages and no GH & Insulin. Remember reading somewhere that his favorite pre-contest stack was D-ball and Primo.

If you have the Pumping Iron special edition DVD, watch the interview with Arnold. He says what he took if I remember correctly.

GS

PS: I agree with y'all. Those "older" guys looked better than the bodybuilders of today.

I agree they look good, the only thing I don't like about the bodybuilders today is their stomach.Other than that I would love to have huge ass muscles like that.By the way, do you think Arnold and his friends stayed on year round' like the bodybuilders do today.Thanks.

No he did not stay on year round....my guess would be 2( 1 off season for mass and 1 pre-contest before the Olympia) or so cycles per year. In pumping Iron he admitted to using only D-ball......I think.

Todays pros do have better developed legs than those of yesteryear, but also they have bigger upper bodys to. Arnold was around 6 foot or so and weighed 230-240 in contest shape. Guys his size today are 270-290 in contest shape. Thats a 40-50lb difference.

if I remember right I think that I read somewhere in an interview or maybe someone guessing that it was test/deca/eq/primo/dbol-the breakfast of champs
have no idea what the dosages where

then again nobody knows for sure...like Dorian once said, it's a bodybuiler's most guarded secret even Dorian's wife didn't know what he was piping in his ass every morning

Yeah, I would love to fucking know.Man he was awesome looking.Great chest too.

Yeah, but it does not really matter. You could use the same stacks, training, and nutrition as the great one and for 99% of us we still would not come close to him.

True.I wish I had those genetics.

Arnold's waist was 35", according to his "Education of a Bodybuilder". Coleman's upperbody destroys Arnold's. If each hit a lat spread, Arnold will disappear.

How Can U Compare Ronnie To Arnold???

THATS LIKE COMPARING A-ROD TO DIMAGGIO.....NO COMPARISON!

I've always heard his waist was 32". It definitely doesn't look like 35" 35" is pretty big.

Ok, yeah, Ronnie's back beats Arnold's but arnolds biceps and chest were far better than Ronnie's.

Ronnie is bigger than Arnold in every muscle group. You can say Arnold had better shape though.....I would much rather look like Arnold.

"Peak" is what I consider as "shape". If you tape their arms offseason or contest Ronnies are bigger I'm sure....maybe by only an inch or so, but bigger none the less.

Nope, by his own admission, it was 35". The two shows I've done the best I've been able to pull is 35.25" and that was ROUGH. I've got very large hips and obliques, so my waist will never be overly small. In fact, right now it's sitting somewhere around 40" and I can see my top four abs. Not the deepest, but they're clearly visible.

If you really want to see what Ronnie Coleman looks like in the off season, take a look at this link. This is a gym in Columbus, Ohio. When you get to the page..scroll down just a tad and you'll see. As stated before, I much rather look like Arnold!!!!
