Weighing food portions

So, I started the Vertical diet this past Monday. Trying to eat 2.5-3lbs of ground sirloin or steak with 6 cups rice a day and make up rest of calories through fruit/veggies to get to 4100 cals a day. I've been eyeing the portions and I'm way off. Wife cooked a pan of ground sirloin which I used in 2 meals. Tells me later it was 3lbs! Oops! I'm going to have to break out the food scale I guess.
 
Definitely better just to weigh it out. But her and deli scales are off all the time.

Plus it helps keep you mindful of diet. Find Im generally less prone to getting off track of I bust out scale / notebook.
 
Yeah, eyeing it was way off. I eat like a fucking horse so it looked normal to me. I'm really trying to spread it out over the day plus I cant be eating $25 a day worth of beef.
 
Food scale is good. So is myfitnesspal. Just downloaded it today it’s great. Scan barcode on ur food
