What do you consider to be an acceptable dumbbell bench press?

Pictures are the best estimate still. Most people should add ~5% bf to what they think they are, depends how much experience they have. Best thing to do is to learn from people that know what they're talking about for example former competitors. Just as an example dude above me is probably ~14% body fat, of course it's just an estimation based on one picture, but it's still closer to reality than 10-11%.
I did it off pics and dexa actually.

Back then was bod pod

Say we’re doing it for size so 4 sets of 8 with 1min rest in between sets.

What would you consider to be an acceptable dumbbell bench press?

I want to know if I’m seriously lacking or I’m doing OK. I can dumbbell bench press (with good form) 90s 4x8
What are your goals for strength training or hypertrophy training? This also depends on how you train.

Sorry but I'll be honest, you should be aiming higher especially if you are on gear. I was pressing 90's for more reps than that when I was 135lbs as a teenager as a natty. Put the dumbells down if you wanna get strong and get under a barbell and aim for say 225 for 10 at first then further down the line 315 for 6 reps. In my eyes anybody who has done a few cycles of gear and is 170lb's upwards should be able to bench 315 for 6.

Ditto. 90s and 95's at 130lbs natty. And 315 for 4-6.
Of course I was 23. lol

I have never seen a 130 lber db press 90s. Not saying I don't believe you but that is not even on the high normal side.

Work on 6 or 5 repetitions is a classic scheme, if I'm not mistaken, this was used in weightlifting.

Please ignore this post I made yesterday - It was a dickhead post and I regret saying it looking back at it now.

I used to do it so it can be done. Looking back I was 25 not 21 and my body weight varied between 130 - 135lbs. I don't recall anyone else my size doing it and this was my college gym with lots of people coming in and out over a three year period. So, unusual but doable.

I worry less about weight now in my 40s and more about feeling the muscle and getting a good pump. Have a nasty case of tennis elbow now for about a month so i'm not doing much dumbbell presses at the moment. Normally though i work with the 80's-110's, after a slow ramp up to that weight. Working out fasted at 4a def has its drawbacks strength wise but such is life. Spend 20 minutes warming up between cardio and mobility exercises lol. Getting old isn't fun but i'm thankful to be alive and still in the gym getting after it 6 days a week!

I don’t know, I don’t know :) I think getting old is cool, as you rightly wrote, it’s not the weight that matters anymore, but the buzz in training. We begin to think more about how to give ourselves pleasure, and not movement for the sake of movement.

No idea what I can do because I’ve never worked out with anyone. Always alone in the basement lol. The heaviest I can get into place is 95lb dumbells but I can get 13-15 reps. I’ve never even tried to go heavier actually.

No idea what that translates to with a bar either.

I was around 160 to 165lb's first time I did 405 flat bench so maybe I'm being a bit harsh lol @ 5'8
Sounds like you have insane pressing genetics, I'm 6'2 with like +2 ape index (long ass arms) and my bench pr is 315 for 2 @ 255lbs. I can hit 225 for 12 though.

I try, when I have dumbbell presses and they are heavy, always find comrades to belay me. Yes, and together it is always more fun, motivation and desire to train more.

I’m sure it is great to train with people- for me even being able to have someone help spot/belay so I can try to max out would be great. I’d consider going to a gym just for that reason, but I couldn’t see myself going much since I enjoy training myself so much and Have had to go years spans of working 110 hour weeks with no days off- so having weights right where I work to be able to hit it hard right before I leave for the day is key for me. It also allows me to plan by pre workout meals/supplementation as I’m working and letting everything time up correctly with pre workout drugs/supplements

In any case, you found an opportunity to train. Based on the difficult conditions, and not tritely said there is no time and opportunity. So you are great.
