What does your diet consist of??

I am in my mid-forties so I am not trying to gain mass or much. Maintenance; lean and harden up.

I am fortunate enough to meet Ed Corney and Bill Pearl as a young body builder in the 80's. Both said when they got into their forties they were trying to maintain. I don't know why but that stuck with me. Not really sure if they stuck to it though.

Right now, trying to lose some BF and not lose much else. I am not on a run as of yet but probably beginning of july I will, if I can get all the ingredients I am looking for. I ran a PH run for a IMF log not too long ago. Thickened me up, maybe lost a lil' bodyfat. I've been traveling a lot for work, so that puts a crunch on goals sometimes. Before that, when I got real var and test, I did a good 8 week run. It was fun. Only thing I am using now is Ur spray and DAA and some other silly supplements.LOL.

When my diet gets boring and I will allow myself things I don't usually eat, like a cheeseburger with grilled onions once in a while. I don't really have a sweet tooth except for dark chocolate, so really no problems there. I guess that's about it. I haven't competed in a body building show since 92' (I think). Just love training and sculpting my body. I couldn't imagine getting on stage now unless I can get to judge the fitness women in their bikinis!

Age dont mean jack here in Meso - theres a bunch of us in our 40's-50's-60's and we aint quittin just because of age . Im 50ish myself & havent lost any muscle strength (yet) the gear can keep you young if used correctly . Get back in the game Heady ! ~Ogh
 
Once I find my way through the maze of whom or whom not to use, I will be back in the game, that is for sure. Competition wise, no thanks.
 
I went to the store today but they didn't have converted rice. So I picked up some Jasmine just to try it. It is very good, I love sticky rice
 
My only problem is work. I travel often and have business meetings and training and sometimes it is hard to do. I try to always keep shakes available for these times. I have been very busy with work lately so have had to go this route quite a bit but luckily I'm cutting so that helps. When I go back to bulk it will be a 6pack good carrier wherever I go to get that whole food in.

I know this pain diet is a constant struggle and I think everyone agrees with that. That's why guys go to extreme lengths not to. Like running DNP and shit like that. Even Clen and all that stuff. ECA stack is all I have ever tried no bueno for me. I can't stand a racing heart. SO guess what I am stuck dieting.

Same here. I travel non-stop lately. Life of a construction manager. Love my job, but not too good for the physique!

Its hard brother , I think all my boys in my diet thread were getting tired of my up & down dieting , so I threw them a pic yesterday to show them Im still in the game , not giving up . If my 50+ year old ass can do it you young'ins can too , now eat your yogurt ! ~Ogh
 
Where's that photo? I'm a few years behind you, but I still hitting too. Fucking love training. Since I was 12. It gets frustrating not seeing the love handles not budging, but I have plans for them!

Alright so I am changing up the diet. Not getting the results I was looking for on the no fat/mod carb/high protein approach. Still cutting, going with a more Keto/Carb Nutrient timing approach that has worked for me in the past. Basically same caloric value I am currently at, carbs based around training (Pre, Intra, Post) and healthy fats with protein all the other meals.

Here is the meal breakdown:

Training Days

Meal 1
2 cup egg whites, 3 whole eggs

Meal 2
7 oz. chicken breast, 1 tbs. coconut oil, 1 cup broccoli

Meal 3
Same as meal 2

Meal 4
Same as meal 2 minus the coconut oil

Meal 5 Pre-Workout
50 gram Truenutrition Whey Isolate
50 gram Truenutrition waxy maize

Intra-Workout
50 gram Truenitrition MPA Intra workout(Aminos, highly branched cyclic dextrin)

Meal 6 Post-Workout
50 gram Truenutrition Whey Isolate
50 gram Truenutrition waxy maize

Meal 7
10 oz. Tilapia, 1/4 cup (measured uncooked) jasmine rice




Non-Training Days (Keto)

Meal 1
2 cup egg whites, 3 whole eggs

Meal 2
7 oz. chicken breast, 1 tbs. coconut oil, 1 cup broccoli

Meal 3
Same as meal 2

Meal 4
Same as meal 2

Meal 5
Same as meal 2

Meal 6
8 oz. Sirloin Steak, 1 cup broccoli

3x a week HST Training
7x a week 30 minutes fasted cardio

@Oregonstrong Diet looks real nice. I noticed you had carb powders (waxy maize) in your diet. How do you like those? I've been wanting to give the other powdered carbs those guys sell a try , they have a lot of flavors and the prices are cheap. Do you think some of there oat/potato powder would make for an adequate meal replacement if needed?
 
Sometimes I just count the calories not the carbs - its hit & miss sometimes , good looking diet OS .....~Ogh

Thanks OGH, still fine tuning but it is getting there.

Truenutrition is a great site for supps. They have great prices on whey and you can customize your own mixes and flavors. They also have great carb and amino options. Check them out I think you'll like them. Fast T/A and customer service also.
