What does your diet consist of??

@Oregonstrong Diet looks real nice. I noticed you had carb powders (waxy maize) in your diet. How do you like those? I've been wanting to give the other powdered carbs those guys sell a try , they have a lot of flavors and the prices are cheap. Do you think some of there oat/potato powder would make for an adequate meal replacement if needed?

They have a lot of great options to choose from.

I think the oat/potato powder would be a great meal replacement for a starchy slow digesting carb although I would always go whole food in all meals other than around workout.

I really like the waxy maize and use it pre and post workout. I am also playing with dextrose post workout.

Agreed about the whole foods. Good to hear the powders are working well for you.

Yesterday was my first time using an intra-workout and I loved it! Had great energy, a good full feeling the whole workout,and a great pump! Feeling great this morning, also I think it will improve recovery.

That is great to hear, I might have to try the really fast digesting powder intra workout - my workouts tend to run a long time and I do a lot of volume so I would love to see what kind of effect taking fast digesting carbs mid workout would have on muscle fullness and performance..
 
Just an update. I found some of uncle bens coverted rice at Kroger the other day and cooked some for lunch today.

I have to say I'm very impressed, love the flavor and its sticky like white rice.

Also its supposed to have 80% more nutrients than regular white rice and it scores a 38 on the glycemic index which is better than brown rice.

Yep - chicken here , chicken there - chicken every where......

I butterfly a chicken breast in to 3 pieces , lightly run it thru olive oil (or veg oil) w/ Lawry's seasoning salt lightly and bake 20-30 minutes . Then dice-up and add to rice . Basic BB food my friend . ~Ogh

This sounds great actually. I pretty much stick with white rice now only, but I might start using brown rice here and there too If I can make it better by throwing in some chicken in there as well...

I'll be sure to use you're seasoning advice if I try this dish out. Thanks for sharing, always good to learn about more meals I can make a staple of my diet.

Its regular dry rice in a bag but it does have microwave instructions on it. But I've never tried microwaving rice, other than the ready rice pouches.

@weighted chinup- Try Uncle Ben's parboiled (aka Converted) long grain rice! White rice is just so high on the Glycemic Index.

I've never had a parboiled rice product before - I'll add it to my list of things to try ;)

How much easier is it to eat compared to white rice? White rice has been a staple of my diet because I can consume so much more of it than brown rice without feeling full/stuffed.

Honestly I don't have alot of experience with it yet. I just discovered it recently. But I can tell you the texture and taste is close enough to white rice that it will probably be my new staple for rice.

Nice, I would try microwaving it. That is how I prepare Jasmine Rice and it works great!
 
I have decided to change up my diet again brothers. I will post it up. Took back out the dietary fats, still using the carb timing approach with fibrous carbs at low activity time and starch and fast acting carbs around workout.

10 oz. Tilapia, 1 cup broccoli

Non-Training Days

Currently sitting under 170 lbs, 5'7", around 12% bf

3x a week HST Training

7x a week 30 minutes fasted cardio

Hopefully this will give me the results I am looking for, planning on sticking this one out.................
