What equipment is needed for testing?

Will any HPLC machine do?

Besides the HPLC machine,
only very pure reference standards for the specific steroids to be tested are needed?
Is that it?

if you looked more around you could get Waters 996 PDA detector bellow $1000, HPLC pump for about $200 plus manual injector and you are set for less than $1500

I believe older Agilent 1050 DAD detector goes for $200

True, but making those work nowdays would give one unprecedented headaches - also the accessories would still cost quite a bit. Also there's software etc.

Doubt it's possible to get a working setup under 2000e - and even then a person without experience wouldn't really be able to get any sort of the reliable data out of it.

But that's just my opinion.

on ebay you can get almost anything, I see a lot of components sold there. so you can easily put a system together.

I see very often complete Agilent 1050 (degaser, autosampler, pump, detector, computer) for about or less than $5000

for the software there are a lot of places you can get copy of ChemStation for Agilent or Empower for Waters.

There are also a company called DataApex selling software which works with Waters and Agilent

I literally just came back from a drink with a guy from DataApex, lol.

Other than that, we agree... You quote about 5000$ up here, which is how much I'd expect.

You don't go in a business trip child, you go on a Business trip .and you don't have any credibility here
