What sort of junior sport parent are you?

I do a few security contracts with my dogs at annual rodeo. I just got work at a local sport facility. I thought some thugs or sumthin problemo. This is what happened;

No alcohol event, parents abusing officials during game, threatening officials, officials need K9 escorts, parents abusing own coaches, parents abusing other team coaches, players abusing trainers, parents fighting parents of other teams, players fighting other players on and off field, players abusing everyone......

What the actual fuk??? I never seen a junior sport event in 30+ years is this normal?

I know all these people during the week, they are not like this.

Gonna stick to kicking drunk cowboys outta the bar at rodeos.

To hell with team sports. The idea of getting some sort of object into a net or goal line (regardless of the sport) bores me to death.

I used to skateboard and BMX when I was a kid, then FMX. Creativity and adrenaline for me.

I hope my kids do the same. My 1 year old son already has a skateboard, bmx, and a dirtbike (tricked out Honda 50). We ride the 50 together already. I'm setting this one up right out of the gate.

Ive brought this up before on here awhile back. My oldest is pursuing his snowboarding dreams, as did I at one point. Now, his younger siblings all want in on the action....im looking forward to this winter tbh..

its all about the kids...at the end of the day, I think the most important thing as a parent is to let you kids know how much fun you have just watching them play.

It's really hard though, especially as a Dad who grew up naturally competitive, to have kids not have that drive. Forcing them will yield negative results eventually.

I forgot about snowboarding. I still do that, albeit way more cautiously these days. I don't bounce back up the same as in my 20's.

I can't wait to get my kids snowboarding! (or ski-ing ... if they really want to, It's kinda cool these days... sort of).

I think team games are better for child development than team sports.

Inb4 psycho parent - the real world is about winners or losers etc.

My kids would be doing gymnastics, rock climbing or BJJ.

The absolute worst fucking type of person on this planet is a child molester, followed closely by a rapist, and rounding out the Top 3 Worst People in the World are overzealous asshole junior team sport parents!!!

I absolutely despise these POS loser parents who berate officials/coaches/other parents/players! They are effing pathetic human beings.
Unfortunately not enough of us with kids are willing to do the right thing and take the high road when these maniacal jerkoffs start acting out. Instead, too many of us become them, in our attempts to stop them. Ironically, too many of us just begin mirroring the behavior we claim to hate.

You'll never win by trying to out-crazy a crazy person. Yet that's what too many of us do. Next thing you know, everyone out there is losing their minds, the kids are losing out on the REAL benefits of participating in team sports to begin with, and folks like OP X11 are losing all hope for mankind.

As security, what do they expect from you? Just curious...

That's gotta be tough, I mean, most of our baseball umps are high school kids...they aren't equipped to deal with that kind of shit!
