What was DICK Cheney meaning ?

First president since hoover to not create a single new job while in office...

Projected defecit at current spending in ten years is just a little over 2.5 Trillion...

Largest medicare premium increase since it's creation... (the seniors are pissed off)

These are not small problems that he will have to overcome... Especially since he's alienated Blacks and now the Elderly.

The first full-term president to NEVER veto an approprations bill of any kind..But says he will clamp down on federal spending..

Promises more money for job retraining..and on the same fucking day slashes federal job retraining funding by 30%...

Does Cocaine off the federal seal at Camp David while his daddy is president as recently as 1989 for sure.....

This fucker says what you need him too...Talk about a flip flopper.

" I am against abortion " although my gf in 1973 aborted my child....HE HE HE HE

Which could also be related to the recession that started under Clinton. There have been something like 1.4 million new jobs in the past year.

Plus, when you look at the emplyment situation from an economic view, having 100% employment is not a good thing. There comes a point where we reach full emplyment. That number isnt really known (as it fluctuates), but going beyond that is counter-productive. There are what, 95 million people working and only 5 million not working. I dont see that as much of a problem.

*yawn* I dont care. Their premiums went from $66 to $78 a month. Wohoo, if someone cant afford $12 a month then they have much more serious issues to deal with. Beyond that, I see it as another govt program that could be reduced/eliminated.

There must be some seriouso questions about that, especially when a magazine like Newsweek wont even mention the book.

You cant be serious. Oh wait, whos your source for that? Right...its Larry fucking Flynt. Real reliable.

Newsweek is waiting to see the reaction from the rest of the world before they run with this story, just like CBS. MsNBC, ABC , CNN and NBC are going forward with the interviews with Kelley .
Is larry flynt unreliable because he owns a porno mag..or because he is a liberal Bob ? How many "god fearing " righties has he exposed as frauds and philanderer's ? LMFAO....

WRT to the Recession from Clinton ...In 2001, when George W. Bush took office, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) was projecting a 10-year surplus of $5 trillion. Now, we are projecting a 10-year defecit of 2.5 trillion... Two years ago, this same Presidents team projected a FY2004 deficit of only $14 billion, not the roughly $477 billion it is turning out to be...Yep, I'm sure that was all Clinton

Anyway, I like you Bob, and you and are Friends and I don't want to get in an argument over guys as worthless as Bush and Kerry.. Wrt to the Elderly, I guess it all comes down to what you care about, and because I care a lot about my Grandmother, I hate to see any more burdon added to her.

Just to note, The elderly do make up a huge percentage of the voting population... They can and often do swing an election. If Bush fucks with their money too much, they will all turn on him faster than he can whistle "the stars are bright".

Not unless you are one of the 5 million not working bob...then you'd seee a fucking problem. These arent all ditch diggers , gas pumpers and factory workers that are out of work .. these are skilled folks like Engineers, Scientists and programmers.... What should they do Bob...What would your answer be..Retraining ? Oh, sorry no money for that...GWB just slashed 30% out of the federal budget for that..Even though you've paid a disproportional amount of taxes for "X" yrs...We've opened a tax loophole that sent your job over to India....

Sorry try wendys..

You cant honestly view Larry Flynt as a reliable source of information.

I dont know about you, but I see just a TAD bit of bias one NBC's part when it comes to reporting about that book from Kitty Kelley. Name one other author that has been on the show for 3 consecutive days (like she is)?

Dont get me wrong, Im not placing all the blame on the Clinton administration. But the recession did start under his watch and events like 9/11 didnt help matters any.

I like my grandma too. But she (and my deceased grandfather) saved up their money, invested and took care of their own. Thats what my basic expectation is for people. To rely on themselves instead of asking all taxpayers to foot a large chunk of the bill. Same with welfare, SSI, SS retirement and so on.

I agree, old people turn out to vote and there are tons of em.

What would you honestly consider to be a good unemployment rate?

Also keep in mind that the US unemployment rate is still one of the lowest in the entire world, with only a handful of countries that are lower (and not by much). Look at Germany. One of the most advanced, industrialized economic powers in the world, and their unemplyment is around 13%. The UK at 10% and I could go on and on and on about how much better off we are than 99% of the world.

DUDE- The war in IRAQ didnt have anything to do with 9/11...DAMN..how many sources need to confirm that..US INTEL, the 9/11 commision..
Was there a direct connection.....prob. not. But if Iraq had WMD's you don't think that they would be happy to give them to someone who hates us as much as they do? Preemptive strike on a potential situation that, more then likly would happen. And if you start by braying " But there are no WMD's". Well hindsight is 20/20. Everybody thought they had them, even the paragon of the democratic party Bill Clinton believed they had them. Intelligence gathering isn't a science for shit's sake, alot of it is conjecture. And do I think that in many way's the reconstruction could have been better run...yes. But as I said above hindsight is 20/20.

Fuck it....I am getting nowhere.

Everyone here knew exactly what idea Veep DICK was trying to plant into the heads of those who refuse to think for themselves with that statement....Fear and Smear ..

and yet he still in the lead! i think i am done talking politics ... in a couple of months we will see ... but i do see 4 more years!

First or all, This "fear tactic" you talk about would be no different than the same tactic that Dems have used for decades scaring the elderly and the lower income class to vote their way. I remember Paul Welstone from MN claiming that "if Republicans had it their way, you would all be eating cat food."

Second, I love how claims made by one or two people against W are gospel truth while the Swifties are all a bunch of liars and should not be believed. I think it shows you're getting desperate when you have to start going the Michael Moore route. This campaign is going to get ugly. The sad part is all this crap takes the focus off of the real issues.

Lastly, As far as what Cheney said. I think it was a little over the top. But I think he's just basing his opinion on Kerry's record.

In the Boston Globe's May 30, 1984 story by Chris Black on the first Senate campaign of then-Lieutenant Governor John Kerry: "Kerry asks cuts in defense outlay" . The fourth paragraph of the Globe story begins: "He recommended cancellation of 27 weapons systems..."

The fifth paragraph begins: "He recommended reductions in 18 other systems..." The last paragraph of the story provides an echo of Kerry's bookkeeper's critique of the Iraq war yesterday: "He said that some of the defense money should be redirected to restore cuts made in domestic programs."

Quotable quote:

Kerry said that Massachusetts would be "only negligibly negatively impacted" by his proposals...

This is the same argument he is using today, weaken the military and let me spend that money at home. Wrong then. Wrong now.

JB - I personally think that VEEP DICK saying this is a "real issue". Do you have trouble distinguishing between "catfood for dinner " and a "terrorist attack that kills thousands "? Do you really not see a difference in tactics ?

All this nonsense does take away from the real issue...But why would this administration want it any other way. They dont want to talk about the real issues..The fuckers hardly mentioned Al Qaida, Iraq or Afghanistan at all during the rightie convention. They talk about bogusly spun numbers regarding employment, the economy, the TYPES of workers that are without jobs.

I wish they'd talk about the real issues too..hopefull the debates will begin to lift the haze of confusion.

There both tactics of fear-mongering. Both preaching to their supposed strengths. (RNC-Defense & DNC-Social issues)

Spinning goes both ways.

Unfortunately I think we are in for a nasty 8 weeks.

The debates will probably decide it for anyone who is still undecided.

Did anyone else see today that the documents used for a 60 Minutes show are almost certainly bogus? Those same documents about Bush's military service that the Dems have jumped all over as gospel. I wonder who came up with these bad boys. Hmm.

60min???

I saw it on the CBS world news and read about them on foxnews today at work... from everything I've read it seems to be on the up and up Bob.. (Even The republican's source for news isn't disputing it's legitimacy... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,131828,00.html

btw... Who is cnsnews? Never heard of em

.

Right....they do know what GWB will do and they are running scared. Tehy are hiding in the hills, blending in with the locals, and laying low.

On the flip side, you could say that they knew exactly what Bill Clinton would do as well. They knew that they could attack our embassies and our carriers and taht all Clinton would do is lob a few missiles into a baby food factory in Iraq.

At least GWB has taken the war to them. Kerry wants to put them on trial so that John Edwards can make even more money defending them.
