I am about to homebrew for the first time, but have not come across an answer for how much oil can pass through a whatman filter before its no good and needs to be changed.
Thanks in advance

I used to get 60ml through my tube shaped .45 filters...
and before that my .45 whatman ...
I did that because I bottled 20ml bottles..
If you're going with 10ml bottles, then I would go for 50ml max..
Nice Avatar.. Now I gotta masterbate![]()
Bro when it gets hard to push it through stop, or you will blow out the filter, and you will have to start over. Not cool.
Usually 30-40 ml is all it's good for. That's a good rule of thumb, so plan accordingly.
Thanks Big Paul. Was just wondering though, I'm thinking you would need to clear the filter with either oil or air, and am guessing you would do this twice if filter was changed half way through?
Thanks H

I prefer .22um filter harder to push but it can filter even bacteria,
Yes, you'll be fine.I have some 20ml barrels, they look huge, am I going to be able to push through a .22um filter with them or do I need a 10ml?
