What's the best way to build a bigger back?

I recommend looking up some old Dorian Yates workshop videos he really goes in detail how to feel and exercise the back. It helped me understand how to feel my back and how it works. I went from having a shit back to it being one of my better body parts. I was also natural at the time which I rarely see any naturals have a good back.

I believe with any part learn to flex it. feel it. then each set and Rep you will do this also get in the mirror and flex stretch in-between each set.when doing pullups got to do these hang half Rep if you are out of gas.this is how I got a wide back natural wings.

I feel like I need most improvement in my back. For years when I first started lifting I never did back. Always worked out in my teen years and threw my 20's but never really did deadlifts. That would explain why I am weak in this department but really strong everywhere else. I have noticed the back and shoulders is what makes a man look big. I got good shoulders but lack in back size. I am currently doing wide grip pull-ups, close grip pull ups, (4sets each) and then go to rows using barbell and then dumbbells. I need to incorporate deadlifts again but doing them on leg day is very tiring since I already work the hell out of my legs. What is your best advice to build a big back and what should I do different ?

Chins and dbell pullovers...need to find the groove...too many guys throwing their legs all over the place in order to do a few extra crappy reps.........kvh

ya I hear you...my gym's weight room is crowded as fuck when I get there after a crazy day at work sitting at a desk all damn day (I am a systems administrator). Pisses me off when dweebs hog all the flat benches

You have to workout...
lmao

Deadlifts, Pullups, Rows, Lat Pulldowns, Close grip Cable Rows, and Pullovers (Cable or Machine). A lot of it is mind-muscle connection and using your muscles correctly in order to stimulate them more. Always arch your back and squeeze your shoulders blades back when you are pulling in, and when you are on the way down (negative part of the movement) be sure to fully stretch your lats by slightly letting your shoulders blades roll forward. Idk how safe that is but thats what ive been doing for the 3 years i lift and whenever i stretch it more i feel it better.

when I was a regular gym rat...
pull ups, then dead lifts, then hanging leg lifts. one after another in a tri-set.
pull ups for the lats, deads for overall back and traps, and hanging leg raises. just to get your legs above parallel you have to pull.
all in front of the squat rack :D.

other days some dumbbell rows and lateral raises on and incline bench.

As a weak point myself.

I really found that hitting a muscle with two different movements to failure helped the best.

I would do 5-7 light weight warm ups, and then 3xfailure....Not thrusting my whole body either, if my muscles themselfs could not move the weight it was done.

I would do dumbell rows with a swinging motion to add in DC style, and then to reverse grip lat pull downs....not saying my back grew as much, but it helped.
