ive seen alot of shit go wrong in powerlifting meets but usually strong powerlifters can recover from dropping 500+ lbs on themselves
BUT the worst ive seen was a skinny 115-130 lb guy lift 225 off the rack and drop it from arms length.( now ive seen heavier weight get dropped) but this guy did not handle this well, the bar bounced and landed on his stomach folding him in half i had to pull it off of him.. the bad part was he had no fight the minute the bar landed on him he was done he curled up and screamed and made no attemps to push the weight off of himself.. after i grabbed it off him he stood up and said "im ok" took 2 steps and fell on his face.. the gym called the ambulance... when he left he had a yellow tint to his skin...
