Whats your gym demographic like

My gym is has a somewhere between 5-10 IFBB pros, male and female. There’s several coaches aside from them that train a slew of competitors in single and group settings. Which sucks if you match up the same muscle group as them that day. They will take up all the racks, benches or leg machines.

Probably in this order from most to least

Competitors, or people wanting to compete
Chicks with impressive glutes & gym bros
Than normies/beginners
Broccoli head
Old people

There was an old guy doing that with standing cable flys this week at the building gym. And yeah it's annoying. Makes me smirk and shake my head.

Oh, saw a guy at the investment bank bro gym doing that yesterday on a Hammer Strength plate-loaded incline press. 35lbs a side. Was racking 70s next to him and SLAM!
Theres a guy here idk why nobody has spoke, for like triceps on cable, he presses down, then lets weights slam down, and does this for each rep. He clearly is not aware the eccentric portion is more important, for goals in many cases. But its ridiculous.

There's a guy at the building gym who does pulldowns as hard and fast as possible. The weights slam down on every rep and he bottoms out the stack too. Last week he got on the elliptical next to me and started going as fast as he could with the resistance maxed out. He started slowing down and hopped off in 10 mins. Clown mf

Hell the other day I saw a shirtless dude CLEARLY cracked out on stans dragons blood eat Turkey and rice while riding a spin bike. Fucking wild man
Stan's Dragon blood really is wild man, haha. I got a bottle from a buddy about two months ago and that stuff is insane before fasted cardio. Especially stacked with 600mg L-Carnitine and 100mg caffeine.

I've definitely puked a couple times from it, lol.

As far as my gym, I'm stuck at planet fitness for affordability and distance, or the gym on campus, but forget that. I'm not trying to go wait on machines while some sarm goblin kids are going down on smelling salts just to put up 135.

Planet fitness is alright, but annoying sometimes. The demographic here is what you'd expect, a 50% out of shape people trying to get in shape, 10% serious lifters male or female, girls, 10% highschool/young college kids now that it's summer, 20% cardio/light weight twice a weekers, and 10% gay guys cruising.

At least it's usually not insanely busy where you won't get to use a piece of equipment you want, and open 24 hours except Saturdays. Black card perks are dope too.

Have you done any labs while using the dragons blood? Curious if you saw an increase in wbc related to the albuterol?

Kind of hard to assign %s

But I go to a standard commercial gym, so you kind of get the full variety of ages and demographics

-the older grey hair crowd that you see there everyday that are serious about their health. Some that go there to mostly socialize.
-the younger brocoli head teenagers in tank tops with noodle arms
-the half naked chicks in Nike pros, and spandex
-small segment of serious bodybuilders and powerlifters

The time of day I go usually influences the type of demographic you see too.

Early morning like 4-6am you'll see a lot of the die hards, later morning/afternoon I find to be more of the older crowd, with some of the half naked chicks sprinkled in. The evening is a lot of brocoli heads clogging the benches, so I try to avoid this time slot at all costs

I kind of like the 4-6am crowd personally. They're usually there with a purpose, and not messing around, time efficient with what they do. You also usually see the same people at the same times, as people are creatures of habit (myself included)

Where the hell do I find these moist half naked chicks in spandex?

All I have seen is dudes in spandex, often spending more time practicing posing in front of mirrors blocking peoples way than actually working out.

Mine is a mix of ages and physiques. Everything from tiny little guys up to 300+ lb guys juiced to the gills. Mostly guys, but also some very attractive women. Pretty women around always get a few extra reps out of me. Gym is packed at peak hours, though, and since it's a five-minute walk, I usually work out between 3 and 7 am. Unfortunately the morning crowd is a bunch of guys in their 60's and 70's who treat the gym like a social club. I definitely stand out during off-peak hours, but at least I'm not dwarfed by the really big guys lol.

There is one broccoli-headed Gen Z kid who works out in the middle of the night, and he often spends an hour (sometimes two) on a single machine, repping out set after set. I've never seen anyone do that before.

It's really well equipped and we have some Gym 80 (German) and even some MTech M-Torture (Korean) stuff. I prefer the old Booty Blaster hip thrust machine to the M-Torture though. I got a much better contraction in the glutes with it. I also just prefer the Hammer Strength stuff to the Gym 80.

During the day it's all old people. I saw an 80 year old guy in a three piece suit doing chest press machine last week.

As soon as it hits 4pm the broccoli heads show up and sit around with three to a machine. Not talking to each other and doom scrolling.

There's like 20 regular normal people including myself who just work around all this. Maybe like 2-3 serious lifters. I'm not including myself in that.

Cheap as chips though. But I'm Def considering an upgrade to a gym with a sauna soon.

Ill hop in on this.

I go to body building oriented public gym. they get all the dope machines & variations etc, old Nautilus, new arsenal etc.

It’s a mix crowd. But definitely a more fit crowd. Can be intimidating to some.
Luckily it’s not like Eos or 24 hour etc.
a lot less high schoolers and broccoli kids.

There’s
Men & women competitors.
All divisions, haven’t really noticed many open body builder types tho.

But definitely some women bigger than me lol. And makes me question if I would even have the balls to talk to them.
Their wellness legs could wreck me lmao
But also some very attractive 10/10 bikini girls if you’re into that.

Unfortunately due to the type of gym, it attracts the tripods and content filming, so that’s the most annoying thing. A lot of cringy shit.
Never overly busy tho. Not in eos terms.

my current gym is packed full of the worst life fitness machines you can imagine
and the people look they were rounded up from a bus stop
idk what is about people wiping equipment down, back in the day at the gyms i trained at, no one did that unless you were like a big nasty mf sweating everywhere. but nowadays, atleast at this region and gym chain, everyone wipes the equipment off, they arent sweating, the AC is set at like 65, and theyll like wipe off the standing calf machine like they have the plague.

which makes me think this is some remnant of coronavirus or just more and more new people in the gym that think this is just what you do

life fitness is the worst equipment in the U.S , nothing feels right, the tension is all over the place, rarely can you adjust the seat or anything else on there, i think they have a line of plate loaded equipment and thats just as bad, like some people drew some diagrams and just welded the pieces together in a way that 'looks' right.

so i started using more free weights which has subjected me to the free weight bench campers, the laziest mfers in the gym that set up shop on a bench like its their home base, with a back pack and giant water bottle and janitor sized key ring. doing curls while sitting on a bench, then remaining seated on the bench, then grabbing more weights and back to sitting on the bench. then doing another exercise sitting on the bench. then some laterals sitting onthe bench, then some front raises, im sorry, are you disabled? did someone dump you out of a wheelchair on this bench and thats why you cant move or do anything standing? do you need me to carry you to a machine so you can get t f out of my way?

Ive been seeing people watching like wwhole netflix shows at the gym, they have a magnet on their phone they stick to equipment and can do reps while watching.

these people with their backpacks and gym bags, why do people carry around a gym bag machine to machine like they are a repairman or need their giant water bottle like they are going out on a hike. its 65 degrees, you are doing tricep pushdowns, you arent going to die of thirst from 10 light sets in the gym without water. whats in the bag that you need to bring it everywwhere like you need to quickly grab something from there likes its a video game inventory. like some prompt is going to pop up and it'll say "to use this machine you need 3 gemstones"

this lady put her water bottle and GLASSES straight up on the ground in front of a cable.

I cannot wait to move to the middle of nowhere and get away from this dystopian human experiment
