When are PSA levels highest?

Hi Guys,

What would be the best time to test for PSA levels where they would be the highest?

I just got back from my uro today and he said my prostate was big for sure, I know I have high E2 levels and would like to get treated for high E2 levels. He said he would do something about it if my PSA levels come back high.

Thanks!!!

PSA raises after digital. You might want to ask the uro how long to wait to do the PSA so it won't be artificially high. My doc does them in reverse order to avoid this.

Getting E2 down

Hi for years being on TRT "21" I have had slow voiding and a low pain in my prostrate. I had bad bladder infections sometimes 6 to 7 a year. I read about high E2 in men last year and as soon as I got it down my problems went away. My prostrate got smaller my Dr. could not believe it.

But I must say I went though hell trying to get my Dr. to even test me. After doing all kinds of OTC supplements and taking Evista nothing got it down. Then I started on Arimidex this worked but works to good. After getting my E2 down trying to keep it normal using Arimidex is to dam hard I kept going to low. Just taking 1/4 of a one mg. pill every 5 days I went to low.

Then I found out about Indolplex/DIM it is a OTC supplement that works very good better I feel then Arimidex to keep you levels normal. I had tried DIM before but nothing it has to be this kind.

A lot of us at the Yahoo group are using this with good success. But you still need to not go to low.

I am delighted your Urologist appreciates the effects of E on the prostate.

I am not sure what the correlation with elevated PSA is, though. Did he explain that?

pmgamer--Evista will not lower E levels. If anything, it elevates them. But it blocks E at the receptors.

You are welcome to post the URL for the Yahoo Group you participate in. Perhaps some of the gents from here would benefit as well.

Supplements that alter the ratios of beneficial to hazardous E metabolites is a very good idea (such as I-3-C and/or DIM).

Yes it is a good group but no Dr. I have been getting a lot of help here that is not at the other groups. I have been getting a lot of bad feed back telling people about you. Some seem to think you are pushing steroids and some have jumped on my ass saying you sell them WTF is with that just because you are into weight lifting. I was in it from the age of 12 to 25 and never heard this in them days the crap I here now. I am 61 now. But I have to say that a lot of guys have come to my side about you and have nothing but good things to say about you. But I guess you know this is going on. I feel that what you are doing is great helping others the way you do.
Thanks for all you are doing.

Thanks Phil and Dr. John,

I read its best to wait several days after ejaculation before getting the PSA test so the levels would be higher and PSA levels are usually highest after a DRE exam.

I really want to deal with my E2 but here in Canada not many doctors are aware of it and the studies I've showed them, they dismissed even Dr. John's work.

I am part of the group too Phil, I think the guy just doesn't know what Dr. John does and associates body building with steriods. We do try to defend with facts whenever we see someone not knowing what they say about you Dr. John.

Yes thanks for all your help and hard work Dr. John.

That's interesting, since I have never prescribed a steroid. And I have never condoned--much less encouraged--steroid use. Not even once.

You might try asking these experts to provide one single shred of proof of what they are saying. And there is not one single word ever posted by me where I am encouraging steroid use. Not one.

I have learnd that there are a fair number of people on the Boards and Groups who are just plain idiots. Usually it is some malcontent who, like adolescents, gets their jollies attacking authority figures.

Some of them are Moderators and even Owners of other Boards. LOL.

It's too bad this environment gets trashed sometimes by cowards hiding behind their computer monitors. But that is just the way it is. On the other hand, we have done a lot of good, and enjoyed each other's company along the way. THAT is what we should think of.

Hi Dr. John,

Not to worry, it was just one poster who wasn't aware of who you were. Its a good test of your reputation, and your reputation came out with flying colors, many posters defended you.

SWALE you are right there are a lot of people that talk like they have paper ass holes. I go to a lot of boards and some of the info I have I got from body building web sits. Yet some of these groups ban posting a link to them. They claim that they don't want anyone to think that they are supporting the use of steroids. Yet some of the best info I have come across came from these sites. Here are a few to show what I am talking about.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/reform8.htm
If you do a search on DHT all you get is hair loss junk.
http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle.do?article=150estro
This was the best info for me on high E2.
I have posted your use of Hcg on the UK's site and it was a link, it got kicked off they never read it because it had a heading on it for "Ironlife"
http://www.ironlife.com/mag/issue13/crisler.shtml
So I had to cut & paste it on the site then after they read it they wanted more. You can't judge a book by it's cover.
And if one does not know about something they should keep there mouth shut. Keep doing what you do it helps more then anyone can imagine.

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate that.

I am such a gregarious sort, I would be less than honest if I did not admit that it has always bothered me when people have acted like that. Especially because I have never published a word which was not true.

On the other hand, it shows why there are not other physicians helping out on the Boards. Who needs, or wants, that kind of nonsense?

Your Welcome Dr. John.

We owe you a lot as well!!!

Thanks for all your help from the finasteride board as well!!!
