When to start 1st cycle?

I'm just getting back into lifting. I had to take a break. It was brought on by circumstances, not choice. But I'm curious as to when you guys reccomend starting a first cycle. I'm 6'4" 215 pounds, probably close to 20% bodyfat. I have never done a cycle before, and it's my impression that the first cycle is always the most significant. If this is the case, I want to maximize that first cycle. So I don't necessarily want to waste that growth on muscle I could build on my own. I was thinking of getting back to where I was, maybe hit a plateau and then try a mass building cycle. Is there a general guideline as to when to start youre first cycle? Hopefully, i'm not coming across as a dumbass. Oh and are there any other boards out there that you guys reccomend to get more info. I just got back into researching and i've been devouring anything I can read.

anabolex.com bro! Great site for info. I'll tell you right now with those stats you should get that BF down to lik 15% before you even think about it. If your going for mass especially. Train hard, eat right, get rest. I'm not a guru or anything though, you should get great advise here and on Bolex!

Thanks for the advice. As far as my timeline goes i was lookin at 6 months maybe more before I would start. I have another question though. I can gain muscle really fast. I seem to be genetically predisposed to packing on muscle. But I also seem predisposed to losing it just as quick. If I miss much training at all I shrink, fast. So my concern is, how am I gonna keep all this great muscle i'm gonna put on in my first cycle? I know putting on the muscle won't be hard but it's the keeping it i'm really concerned about.

That's where the use of ancillaries like clomid,HCG,etc. come into play. They allow you to reestablish your natural testosterone post-cycle so you can keep most of your gains. Study up on their use as well. I would agree with what's been mentioned about training at least 6-12 months more on your own and getting that bodyfat down naturally. In the meantime, use this board and other sources to educate yourself on AAS so when you're ready to take the plunge you do it right. Good luck.

I guess I don't understand why one would need to be at a certain body fat percentage before using AAS. Does one make better gains while being at a lower BF percent to start with? I don't understand how that could make a difference. Anyway, the only advice I could give as to when to start using AAS is that when you think you know everything and feel you are ready, study for another half a year first.

the PCT is a big factor in gainskeeping, but a lot of guys forget to keep those calories up to maintain that hard earned muscle. I look best when I eat right, sleep, and work out 45-1 hour 4-5 days a week. So this tells me that diet and rest are a huge factor!

bro if you are worried about bodyfat, you'll want to diet down to around 15% first because you'll be predisposed to gain a little fat while on cycle. general consensus is that attempting to lower bodyfat while on cycle usually just hinders your gains. If you don't mind going from 20 to 23% while on, don't bother dieting down before the cycle. If you do mind, take the time to drop some bodyfat first.

I agree with karch, for a first cycle test-only is all you'll need. By the sounds of it if you go with 500/wk test, eat big and clean, and get pleanty of sleep, you should grow like a weed. peace. crew

oh yeah and obviously do your research first. read everything you can get your hands on, ask questions, and have EVERYTHING on hand you start. be safe.
