When to use a belt?

When I was younger I never used a belt for support unless I was going over 400lbs of weight. Now that I am 40+ and out of shape I was wondering when I should start using a belt for support in my back. I dont really plan on trying to get big weight but you never know.

Use a belt, it will guarantee to keep some of your muscles weak! Be sure to get some lifting gloves and a bench shirt also!

It seems to me that the belt should be used because it is banal the safety of classes. Don't be a hero

Anything over my warmup sets on lifts like squats and deads the belt goes on. So do the knee sleeves.

At 40+, it does not take much to pop something and the recovery is long.

Train smart.
