I don't think anybody was serious about the cats taking a shark. These pics are just crazy though. Handpicking is pretty fun if you like the skin eaten off your knuckles haha. Biggest cat i have caught is around 10-12 maybe 15 pounds. Most we catch are only 2-5 pounds. Great thing about catfishing is the beer drinking

first thing first. If you all have never even seen even a small spinner shark then it is obvious as to why you would question this. Of course it does not matter what you really put up against a shark, 9-10 it will lose. A catfish would be a fine meal for any shark let alone a Great White. I am sure that the Bull Sharks they have in Austrailia that they catch hundreds of miles up river of the salt water in 100% fresh water have dined on many a catfish.

Catfish are top predators in their enviroment as well. Oh they are bottom feeders <----<< WTF---- EVERY GODDAM FISH IS A BOTTOM FEEDER----- your beloved largemouth bass being the biggest bottom feeder----#1 rig for catching bass = carolina rigged worm dragged on the bottom.

You take a bluegill and put it under a jug so it is and stays in the top of the water column and I guarentee you that a catfish will take soon enough----sooner then the one you could place on the bottom right under neath it too. Even before it would take your poop on a stick bait or your chicken livers..

Bro---if you have been noodling---you are fuckin nuts----I have watched many guys do it but never felt the urge to participate.

I love catfishing though--only for the big ones though----here where I am at the biggest is a 47 lb flathead(eastcoast) that I have caught and that was two years ago-rod and reel-live bluegill for bait-tossed up near a log jam.

Fuck me i have never seen catfish like that,i can believe they would grow enormous.I live around the great lakes,seen only little pussyfishes.How much does that one weigh in the pik??they usually fish for sturgeon around here there big fuckers.

yea bro the catfish vs great white was a joke.the shark would most certainly win,thats a no brainer.why it was brought up?the only conclusion that i can think of is that thick wanted to whore around some more.

as far as large mouth being a bottom feeder,i dont see it.really a carolina rig isnt on the bottom.the worm or lizzard is suspened about 18" off the bottom.but my my favorite bass lure is the buzz bait or trick worm.

put a live bream or better yet crappie on a jug,your right your going to catch a nice cat or stripper,but that is very illegal here.for big flats or blues live bait is best (since a flat will only eat live bait).and live bait will swim off the bottom and the cats can grab it(they have an overbite that makes bottom feeding tough)i never use shit baits cause all you ever catch is little mud cats.btw grappling cats is an insane painful thing.

jmb,are going back to the banks cobia fishing this year?were going to try and make it out agian.

no whoring bro, it was BL's idea. I agree with Bass. My favorite lures are Jitterbug and buzzbaits. As for sunfish under the jug, I have caught more bass this way than cats but perhaps that was due to there not being many cats at these places. I dont know about the cat population at the ponds I have jugged
