Why do i feel funny using "girly" machines?

Ok I love squats but don't seem to get as much of a glute workout as I would like (I do go really far down) The gym was dead and I finally used a glute isolating machine. I loved it! I never see any guys on it when it's busy and I'm wondering why? If more guys used it I would not feel so gay using it lol. Same goes for the Hip abductor machine? The one that hits groin muscle. Any thoughts?
 
Probably the same reason you dont get on them...embarrassment. I worked in a gym with 2 pro bb one female and one male and both used these machines.. Not one a regular basis but every once and a while they would hit those seldom isolated muscles. i think it was more when they were training for comps though. The butt blaster was less often used but same exercises can be done on the standing hip flexor machine
 
I don't feel funny using anything, could give 2 shits what people think in the gym since I can out lift them in 90% of the gym.
On the other had, there is a skinny guy who trains for triathlons and does that in his Richard Simmons shorts.......NOT SEXY!!!
 
dam wish everyone felt like a girl using girly machines.

More free machines for me to use in that case, i too dont give a horses cock what people think lol :rolleyes:
 
You shouldn't give a F#CK about what others think in the gym, just go and do your own thing man.

Also, I'm sure people think its girly when I do the adduction and abduction machines...girly until they see me rack it @ 300lbs with the max ROM for a super slow set of 12. Lol btw I get looks from all the ladies when I do that it's great.

The addctor and abductor are both very important and often overlooked muscles. Keep doin' your thing!

Try doing some squats on the smith machine and putting your feet about 6-12" out in front of you and going all the way down. Start your movement with the weight in the heels first. That will isolate your glutes more than anything

exactly broo ... you shouldnt care man at all ... as long as your comfrotable being who you are and comfrotable with your sexuality who gives a rats ass ... ppl who would think less of you probably dont understand training to begin with
 
I was trained on Nautalis machines in the early 1980's at Ft. Benning the largest Infantry Training Center int he world! Plenty of Army guys used all the machines. The thinking was the Army would not have bought it and made it part of the circuit if it was needed! So you did each machine twice to failure and called it a day! So as I got older I still used every machine. I credit the glute/hip machine and the leg abductor and adductor machine for making me into a killer ont he matt. I could literally choke a man with my legs around his mid section. I would wait for a guy to exhale then clap down so they could not expand their lungs. Hard to fight if you can not breath! I worked up to the point that I had to have my workout partner stand on the plate stake to add more resistance. It also gave me a really nice butt which was good for sprinting!

I would never think a person was gay because they where using these machines in this case these machines make perfect sense since it is hard to hit these area's with free weights to the same degree you can on these machines! I would not let other peoples perceptions and insecurities to stop me from doing what I need to do to get results!
