Why was the new board a secret?

I'm just curious as to why this new board was kept a secret up until it actually opened. Obviously all the mods knew about this new board, so why didnt you mention it to anyone or advertise on the old board about the opening of this new board. i'm not complaining in any way...i'm just a little curious is all...i'm actually getting used to this and almost starting to like it.

speaking for myself...i found out about the friday before the new board was launched. before that, i knew nothing about it.

there was tons of info i would have loved to save, as a matter of fact i can still access it through my home computer - but i have to be fast - when i go to bookmarks and click on meso the screen comes up for like 2 seconds - i clicked on one thread and was able to access it..
