100% Raw Powerlifting Federation Challenges Drug and Cheat Culture in Powerlifting
Chicago, IL - September 5, 2005 - With revelations of widespread drug use and "modified equipment" bringing controversy and disgrace to today's sports, one organization is driven to uphold legitimacy and integrity by always enforcing and endorsing drug-free, true athleticism: 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation!
The 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation 2005 Illinois State Bench Press Championships will be held Saturday, October 15 at the Triton College Performing Arts Center in River Grove, IL. We expect to draw around 100 competitors, and fill the 412-seat theater for this spectacular one-day event which will see new records set in at least 8 weight classes as many of Illinois' top drug-free bench pressers vie for a spot to compete in the 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation World Bench Press Championships in November. The top five overall lifters will qualify and compete as a team!
Understanding that many people have just one perception of what powerlifting is and looks like, we've created an event within the event for them. The Bench-for-Reps Division will see see drug-free benchers in action as they face-off to out-rep one another with 135, 185, 225, 275, 315, 365 and 405, showing that you don't have to be as built like a Hummer or press half a ton to rock the bench!
100% RAW Powerlifting Federation was established in 1999 with the goal to showcase powerlifters safely competing with no special "support" equipment and 100% Drug-Free! We have since rapidly grown to well over 2,000 lifters while increasing our membership worldwide, providing the best platform to prove that RAW MEANS TRUE POWER!
