I wonder what everyone’s reaction would be to a dental hygienist coming at you with no mask? How about a doctor with no mask doing some day surgery on your arm?

It’s not to deflect normal regular breathing. When they are elbows deep in blood, they can’t very well cover their mouths to sneeze or cough. Accidents happen. So with a mask, they are supposed to sneeze into it, the nurse attendant then removes the mask and replaces it with a new one.

Have you ever seen how people wearing those dumb masks sneeze? They pull the mask down and sneeze into their hand or arm. Then pull the mask back up.

So this “lifesaving” mask isn’t even being used properly. Virus-laden water droplets are expelled significantly further during a sneeze than regular breathing.

I suppose all those years of blowing the dudes your wife brings home has conditioned your lungs to be able to expel virus-laden water droplets beyond the 2-feet that an average person can?

Based upon your preconceived beliefs you might be a bit troubled to say the least. There is research on mask wearing in surgical theaters and they didn't change the post-surgical patient infection rate.

However PPE and source control targeted at large droplets and bacteria (which are orders of magnitude larger than viruses) is quite different than what is needed for PPE and source control targeted against aerosolized viruses. Cloth and surgical masks are very ineffective for the latter. OSHA environmental hygienists laugh at these mask mandates. It's totally unscientific.

No. I may have phrased it wrong. Some states I've been, employers can fire you for any reason with exception of discrimination and such and there's nothing you can really do about it. So they can essentially make the Vax a requirement for employment. At least that's my understanding. We always called it right to work state but that may not be accurate. I'm union now so I haven't thought about it in a while.

You are correct, I live in one of those states. Basically, an employer doesn't really need a reason to fire you. Thankfully, I'm self employed. I run hot shot and I'm in and out of refineries. I've been asking a lot of those guys in petrochemical if they are being told that the vaccine would be mandatory..So far it is voluntary and not a requirement to work.

I talked to my representative about it possibly becoming mandatory and he said they'd fight. The talk has died down so hopefully it's a non issue. If your membership is against it pressure the reps to fight or make sure they know you'll remember come election time.

Hopefully nobody is forced to make the decision between vaccine and career. I'm not a lawyer and i'm not a steward, but I'm trying to do my homework in case they bring this fight. Do you know of any legal ground we could stand on?
