I'm having a knee implant surgery on my right knee on 5/31/16. Doc says Ill be walking in 4-6wks. I'm wondering what I can do for a workout in the interim. I have Olympic bench and weights, curl bar, power rack and t-bar row. I also have a gym membership at a great gym. Should I just do the basics and maybe some circuit training while waiting just to maintain strength? I'm only on trt dosage for the time being. Thanks!

I would listen to the doctor. No since in messing up your body or you could be out longer then 4-6 weeks. So ask your doctor but I don't see anything wrong with lifting upper body

It took me 6 months to be able to put weights on it bruv. Take your time, heal, recover and gradually increase weights. Today, 6 years later, I squat 380 pounds painless. Oh and buy yourself some sleeves. D

Thanks! I meant upper body only until doc says it's ok. How long before you were walking without pain?

My father in-law had a knee replacement and was up and walking the next day. However it has been a year and he still has some pain

Good luck. I had a carticel implant in my right knee and had to have a femoral ostiotomy at the same time.

I feel for ya!

It took a few months. It will swell up like a balloon if you do something it doesn't like. Take your time, this is one of things you need to allow your body to recover from and I've just had to face the fact that I will never be back to 100. D

Thanks! Much apprecisted. They brought a machine that bends my knee and a chiller machine to my house today.I guess Ill be walking on it quick since they only want me to use a cane! Tuesday is the big day!

Well, had the surgery 5/31/16. I'm already getting around with just a cane! I'm going to start working out upper body in about 2 more weeks. I'm off work for 8-10wks (physical job) so I might as well make the best of it! Thanks for all the help guys/gals!
