World..Of..Pain!!!

I was squatting yesterday and I thought I'd go for a max, I got myself hyped up without thinking 100% on form and my back must of been rounded during the lift. Woke up earlier feeling like a 500lb man fell on my lower back.

Need some suggestions on pain relief guys?? I'm so motivated to train tonight too!

It didn't hurt during or right after the lift? I'd start with ibuprofen a few times a day, alternating heat and ice on it and some foam rolling and see how it feels in a couple days.

It did but I just thought it may of been nothing at would wear off. I did deadlifts after too which probably didn't help. I'll try ibuprofen now pal and foam foll for 10 mins before my session, don't wanna rest tonight !

I'm by no means a doctor, but I'd think it wasn't too serious if you were able to do deadlifts after. Reusable heat/cool pads are less than $5 at Wal-Mart. I forget which you're supposed to use on that type of injury, heat or cold, maybe both. Ibuprofen is supposed to break up the inflammation though. No reason not to train, but I wouldn't do anything involving the lower back tonight.

Thanks for the help bro. Benching tonight so it should be fine anyway. :)

I think cold is best. Adding heat to inflammation can feel better but will end up leading to an increase in the inflammation from what I understand.

I always get them mixed up, but come to think of it I've had better results with icing than heating.

I got a "squat-twitch" in my lower lumbar last week when I was racking 360 . I racked the weight , took the day off and took it easy backwise the rest of the week . I was tempted to take a 7.5 Norco but it just didnt seem to warrant it . Plus those are for real pain. Just rest and now Im ready for squats today , 7 days later .
Im lucky it wasnt the BIG ONE .....Goodluck ~Ogh

I hurt my lower back last Wednesday doing stiff legged deadlift. I haven't worked or lifted since. I'm in the middle of a cycle too.

Mine is down real low, like at the top of my but the eek

Maybe s2 joint sprain

The questions is how do you know what it feels like when a 500lb man fell on your back.. and why was he on your back? :)

Just rest and give it time to heal.. no need to make it worse- Good luck on your recover!
