Would most black folks find "Black Guns Matter" offensive?

On Facebook there is a gentleman by the name of Maj Toure (who happens to be an African American himself) promoting "Black Guns Matter".

I am under the impression that he is trying to save the AR15. I was in my local gun store and found this shirt there so I bought it. Wore it to the gym which is fairly mixed and I saw some looks given to me which didn't seem very friendly. I definitely don't want to offend anyone and I wouldn't wear it to the gym again if that is the case but I'm not sure what is the case. Is it a bad idea to wear this shirt in this day and age?

BLM supporters are going to be offended, definitely. More so if you are white.

I don't find it offensive. But I'm not black.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it around my neighborhood though. I value my teeth. . .

Obviously it could be connected to the hypocrisy of the BLM movement. Blacks kill eachother literally 100x as much as cops killing them. Look at Chicago. So you might see how it can be taken the wrong way.

Don't believe the hype.

I will say this; growing up in a city that is 90% black was not easy. Some days it still is not. But I have many friends that are black and great people. Many of them don't support BLM. The understand their culture is a bigger problem to their race than a white cop. The white cop doesn't help matters, but it's not their biggest problem. I hear more blacks bringing up they need to change their culture (Black men killing black men and single mothers) and get back to a family culture.

"Data shows that 93 percent of black homicide victims are killed by other blacks."

OP, I think message on the shirt could easily be misinterpreted. To what? Well, IDK because everyone is different. If one doesn't know the gun referenced by the shirt is black they will not understand the shirt.
