Respect for others

BP you are one of the first guys to really welcome me when I showed up, you were very receptive and helpful, and I asked A LOT of questions ;)

I try to be receptive of everyone, and help with any little input or experience I may have to offer however modest it may be. Lately I must admit I have snapped at a few guys, there has been a lot of stress in my professional life and although it's not an excuse I am guilty of letting it vent in the wrong places at times. If a guy comes in with a good attitude, I am more receptive to them. Lately a few members that I thought may have been a little smug or condescending I may have let them know what I thought, but really I should practice more patience. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I greatly value and respect your opinion BP and I will take it as constructive criticism to do better on my part. All I can aim for is to try to be HALF as welcoming to guys their first week here as you were/are to myself, and even that is pretty lofty expectations.
Thank you brother. No problem here. The iron is what I love. Sometimes it is the only thing I think I have. I have way too much time invested in meso to see it turn into something that is less than what it should be which is the most informative board in the safe use of aas there is. We are in this together.

It's easy to get dragged down to the lowest common denominator. The internet, and instant forms of communication,. have encouraged a "speak first, think later" approach to interaction with others. Ask yourself: does this need to be said? does it need to be said by me? does it need to be said by me right now?

I write plenty of shitty posts. Then stop, and ask myself if i really need to whip my dick out and wave it around. The answer is almost invariably "no." I then delete rather than hit "post reply."

Civility is a dying art. Let's try and revive it. Thanks for posting this, BP, it did need to be said, by you, right now. :D
I have been impressed with you since you arrived. Your posts are constructive and help guys who are new to meso and us old guys too. You have a lot to offer here. Hope you stick around.

I hate disrespect and I would never commit such unless someone breaks the ice in that direction and deserves it nonetheless to be put in they're place. I don't think anyone around here BP has broken that law deliberately.

Back in the day I migrated from Elite to Meso because Elite was collecting all this internet cockiness which is completely ridiculous. Some of the vets over there like 2Thick always had something constructive to say, and weren't constantly rattling their traps. I modded here for many years back around 2000, and generally the way we handled it was raise the IQ of the conversation. Make meatheads think before they say something stupid, which is sometimes hard for us to do.

Brother I have been here since about 98-99. It's been awhile. We have always had a good thing here on meso and very good people. I think we just lost our way. No doubt in my mind that the brothers I have got to know mean well. You know who you are. I just could not watch it anymore. This board means too much to me.
There is no doubt in my mind that we have the guys here to make meso the best board around. I hope you guys rally around and make it so.

Oh yeah Meso pulls the best thinking of any board I've run across, no doubt about it. It's a great resource that shouldn't be taken for granted if we just maintain quality. 20 years from now when AAS is just assumed to be part of anybody's quality of life regimen, Meso will be remembered as one of the few resources that led the way and hung in there for the long run.

Just saying there is a better way and a way that we will all benefit from. Everything that is good comes out of respect.
What are we here for? We all know that. Most of us are here because we use aas, or we have a passion for the iron, and there are like minded people here who enjoy the same thing. Some of you guys don't use, but if you are thinking about it, this is the place to be.
What does anyone here have to gain from from disrespecting another member? I n some cases, I have seen running feuds go on for a year and a half. Who is better off from it?
Isn't civility the right way to go?

I agree with this 100%. I kid around alot on here and I've told people to kick rocks a few times. Ill personally try and be more mature, even when it comes to shills and trolls. I do think we should all be easy on new guys that are legitimately seeking help. I don't think anybody should be affraid to ask any question, no matter how dumb it might be. We all started from nothing and its our job to be supportive of people who truly need help. On a side note, this is a forum dominated with testosterone fueled men, thick skin should come with the territory. If something does get out of hand and a vet sees it, a PM could be sent to straighten the individual out. Respect @Big_paul and the other vets.

I am all for mutual respect, but having grown up in Jersey, profanity just comes naturally. :p I actually use relatively little on the net though. You should hear me in person. :x

Big Paul you truly have a valid Point and i do respect you're creating this Thread. I was shocked the way everyone is interacting toward others that i don't see on others Boards.
I have been on BBing Board for 11yrs nothing like this, I recall the only bad ass i bumped head with was GRIZZLY (RIP) buddy we became best friend for decade i truly missed him.
Needless to say there are so much potential on here by sharing Knowledge and passing to MESSO community. The main issue i see the most members member less then a Yr on here Tarnish Sources with not enough evidence, Most importantly exposing sensitive details NOT a good Sign as i have mentioned DA/LE are sitting back and taking notes.
I Hope we could make this community better place with more welcoming New members as well more approved competitive Sourcing.

I like the way you think bro.

Bro we have had a bad run with sources. You take care of us and we will take care of you.
You just make sure the bros who go with naps are well taken care of. Myself I have never had a problem with naps, but this is an in house discussion. No offence intended.
Rip grizz. I was shocked to read of his passing.

I'm in my early 50"s. I only speak one language and a couple years ago I decided I should learn to use it effectively. Most of my life Mf is how I ended every sentence I spoke. We are more convincing if we speak proper English.

True, point giving. I think Meso needs to put a filter to disallow any sources that have not gone threw proper screening Process etc. i hope i am not stepping on the Admin turf i am only expressing my good faith to see this board better safer community.

I think that is pretty simple bro. Speak to others like you would like to be spoken to yourself. Sound good? I have always respected you brother. You are one of the good guys.
I agree it just unfortunately i think some just do not know how. Lol if we use a Members Code of Conduct it a good reminder. So when Some one is acting out. It stead of arguing you can just be like refer self to the members code of conduct. Just an idea.

Thanks for bringing this up big Paul, I can definitely appreciate where you are coming from. I do agree that everyone deserves to be treated with respect as we are all generally here with a common interest.
I will say that in the short time that I've been here, I've been treated with nothing but respect and in part I believe this is due to the fact that I do my best to treat others the same :)
Simple concept that goes a long way. Appreciate everyone's opinion and help daily on Meso. Much respect!

I agree with you BP, I am still new here and I have been reading a lot of posts and it makes me a little timid to ask questions or post anything. I hope this thread gets through to some of the guys that don't think before they type.

Hey Brad,
The fact that you feel timid at all about posting questions means that we have failed in being a helpful community. We should all be here to help each other out. Especially the people that are just getting into this sport.

I might suggest to some people to do some more research but I always give any and all info I can to be as helpful as I can. I remember what it was like and if I can prevent some guys making the same mistakes I made then I've done my job.

I believe the guys on here whether they will admit it or not all have good hearts and honestly want to help others. They might get strayed from time to time but in the end their all good guys.

Most of us here are married and have kids some I'm sure have grand kids. Just be yourself and have respect for everyone's opinion and they will surly have respect for you.

MESO BROTHERS. let's show these other boards what we really are. A band of brothers who will stand up for one another and protect each other to the end and will welcome newcomers with respect.

Gotta love Meso!!!!!

This isn't a source board brother. But regardless we have a code in place sources must comply if they wish to receive praise around here for reviews within house. Naps is a reseller. So it's difficult for him to meet that code we have in place.
