Respect for others

Thanks for bringing this up big Paul, I can definitely appreciate where you are coming from. I do agree that everyone deserves to be treated with respect as we are all generally here with a common interest.
I will say that in the short time that I've been here, I've been treated with nothing but respect and in part I believe this is due to the fact that I do my best to treat others the same :)
Simple concept that goes a long way. Appreciate everyone's opinion and help daily on Meso. Much respect!

I live by a simple rule. I don't care what you do for a living, what house you live in, what do you drive, who you are fucking. As long as you can keep your word as a man and show respect you are of extreme value.

True, point giving. I think Meso needs to put a filter to disallow any sources that have not gone threw proper screening Process etc. i hope i am not stepping on the Admin turf i am only expressing my good faith to see this board better safer community.

I appreciate your contribution naps, I'm sure it was with the best of intentions. But what I'll remind you and everyone else of is that meso is not a source board. Sources do set up shop here, and given this is an uncensored AAS on line community, it seems inevitable that there will be sourcing on meso, absent Millard deciding to censor the board and remove sourcing related posts. I don't see that happening.

Unfortunately, source threads are often the locale for the worst of the bad behavior. The underground is a zoo, and frankly I often think meso would be better off without sources. Sources come and go, but the members remain and are the lifeblood of the community.

Just saying there is a better way and a way that we will all benefit from. Everything that is good comes out of respect.
What are we here for? We all know that. Most of us are here because we use aas, or we have a passion for the iron, and there are like minded people here who enjoy the same thing. Some of you guys don't use, but if you are thinking about it, this is the place to be.
What does anyone here have to gain from from disrespecting another member? I n some cases, I have seen running feuds go on for a year and a half. Who is better off from it?
Isn't civility the right way to go?

Sure civility is the right way to go when possible.. It's not possible for me to keep my mouth shut from saying the real thoughts I'm having.. <<<< And that's here on Meso and in real life..

I don't like to start fights but I'll sure finish them.. Maybe I should just mind my business... Nah!!!!!! :)

I can relate. I censer like 80% of what I post. Sad to see people potentially go down the wrong path but the stigma of being a naysayer are suppressive.

I'm in my early 50"s. I only speak one language and a couple years ago I decided I should learn to use it effectively. Most of my life Mf is how I ended every sentence I spoke. We are more convincing if we speak proper English.

I absolutely agree Paul and in a professional or academic setting - which may even extend to an intellectual debate on AAS, fitness, etc. - I refrain from using profanity as I agree that doing so in those settings detracts from one's credibility. However, when conversing with my spouse, friends, or in a casual discussion on the net (e.g. thread about music, favorite lifts, etc.), I will continue to be my casual self and that includes a healthy smattering of profanity. If someone takes offense by my use of profanity in casual settings, then so be it. There is a difference between being well-spoken and respectful and simply being prissy. ;)

Something else wanting to bring onto this.... I have personally called out members when I thought they were disrespectful, and Ill encouraged the rest to do so to provide some kind of enforcement. In the fire service and military, its never done publicly. Rather it is attended through private matters first in order to allow the counterpart to respond and remain positive for they're image. If they fail to acknowledge, it is taken to a higher ranking. Obviously this doesn't exist around here, but I would promote the idea at least of handling it discretely at first. Ill name one particular member I've had to deal with regarding this topic of discussion, (@blazinshotgun). We all know where he is now BP.....

My point is, its always the same people that stir the scene. I think we are doing pretty good over here at meso. I think alot of the people that have something to say outside of here about this place are the people that we don't allow to just walk in here and sit on the throne without providing any real benefit to the community AKA the rejects. I will call out another one ( @ItalianMuscle27 )

I was part of the problem when I first came here. no one liked what I had to say and I caught a lot of flack for it. I will not take be attacked lightly and I will respond in kind. that was the wrong way to go about it and I will not do it anymore. just remember there is more than one way to climb a mountain or to do anything for that matter.

I agree there are multiple paths to a destination. But I think it's fair we should all accept various opinions despite how much we disagree with them. After all it's what makes this a public forum.

It goes a long way bro. If you give respect, people will most likely to show you the same.We are not choir boys by a long shot and we will most likely never will. That is not what this is about.

I really appreciate the comments I'm reading.

You are one of the guys who makes meso what it is bro.

Um.... respect is earned and if lost is rarely regained. I hate to play devils advocate, but I really don't care how I am spoken to and I am always going to call it like I see it- and I often see it in a colorful, graphic manner.

When I see someone out to fuck another person or someone who seems to have ulterior motives I will find a thousand ways to call them a slimy piece of shit. That will never change and if the content of my posts offends you I encourage use of the ignore feature. Unfortunately I have a criminal history largely based on my inability to contain my reactions to people and scenarios I feel are worthy of " special attention". Believe it or not I am far better than I was, and I am the exact same demeanor when provoked in person.

I have taken a step back as I am tired of arguing with members who defend these sources for reasons unknown- and I feel there ill advised trust and comments may steer a newbie in the wrong direction- so I make it clear when it is evident to me (in a very colorful manner) that they have trust where it has not been earned.

So they argue with me or other like minded individuals until they eventually gey fucked over- and then they are pushing the source code of conduct. It is a tiresome cycle of growth and it fuels the scamming that is rampant in the online bodybuilding community.

As I said- I am taking a step back because it seems there is so much scammer shit happening with so many fanboys hoping to get in good with a source that I feel I spend most of my time trolling the forum calling a spade a spade as opposed to exchanging training advice and cycle knowledge. I either do that or say go ahead and get fucked like I did to get in this frame of mind. I have a family, career, sobriety, training, bills just like everyone else- at the end of the day I am not financially compensated for my time spent here and if my silence would help class the place up so we can look more mature to the fuckheads on olm, pm, eroids- great.

Put your nametags on that say you are a once again proud member of meso and people will watch their fucks and shits- I am sure that is the secret ingredient to success in the middle of countless illegal scams transpiring each and every day.

I, for one, am appalled at the way people on other boards act- the power drunk mods, admins on the take, members who suck mod dick to get vip titles and get people banned who dare to speak out against the status quo. The status quo is what got these capers to the gigantic magnitude they currently operate at, but I am sure if we impress thwm with our newfound maturity they will reverse their ways and be open to suggestions. Good luck with that.

Am I really reading an argument in favor of belligerency? Brutus you are a natural born killer, I mean leader. What do you respond to? If someone is in disagreement with you, will you respond to a civil conversation or insults? The insults fly back and forth and we have to read it. I would use ignore if it would make meso a better board, but it doesn't. My actions and your actions are a reflection on all of us.
Do you really believe that I am in favor of allowing members of this board being riped of by scammers, or do you think I advocate a different way of dealing with our common problems on meso? A way that I feel is more effective.
Take a look at the UG and you tell me if the coarse of action we have taken has been effective. It has not worked imo, and I have never seen things worse, and really how many sources have followed our directives? Non of them. It's a joke.

Be reasonable. It works, and it gets you where you want to be, much more effectively than feuding.

I often hear an argument from people about how the fact that this involves illegal commerce explains sub par product quality. I think that is a pathetic excuse for ripping people off.

I also agree that what is being done here is not particularly effective. What I am also saying is that being polite and respectful is what is missing in or important is like saying a fresh coat of paint on the george washington bridge would stop crime in the bronx.

The thread was started with the premise of caring about what other boards think about us. I don't. Never will. If I feel the need to verbally wipe my ass with someone I do it- and I will still sleep well at night.

Uncensored is just that. As soon as you start telling people what to say or how to say it free speech ceases to exist. If people choose to abuse it (as I occasionally do) it is what it is.

Meso brothers, I have been visiting other boards and have heard a lot of negative comments about meso, our board. The most common is that is that we are internet tough guys, talking shit, using profane and insulting language. I have been posting on meso for a lot of years and I have always been proud to visit other boards as a meso member, but not so much anymore, and I can't say I entirely disagree. The use of profane and insulting language has no place here or on any other board.

I can't think of another board in which it happens with such regularity as it does here. We all have done it from time to time. I am no exception. Lets clean it up some and try to communicate intelligently. Folks will take us more seriously and it will be a better reflection on us and our board.
I guess I haven't been paying attention enough BP, I thought this was one of the better boards when it comes to that, but I am all in on what you're saying. Thanks for speaking out about it.

I dont care what board you frequent, 90% of the guys are flakes who have probably never even run much legit gear before if ever. These guys will be gone within about 6 months, the vets are few and far between now. I've had the biggest shit talkers I've ever dealt with on bodybuilding forums, and then if the guy even has the balls to post progress photos I want to spit out my coffee laughing.

There is some confusion about this thread. It was not meant to be a guide to vetting sources, it is a suggestion on how to communicate with each other and visitors to meso.

It is to raise awareness of how we treat each other? I can't think of a reasonable argument against it.

I think we should go about things differently in regards to the vetting process, and I don't believe that is a secret, but that is not my intention here. Just a more civil tone here a meso.

It has been my experience that practically every one will be gone in 5 years. I see almost no one here that was here 5 years ago. I think that to say 90% of the people here are flakes is an exaggeration. I wouldn't say anyone who has taken the time to registrar and post here is a flake. We are all here for our own reasons.
