elbow tendons

I grabbed some 99 % roll on DMSO in the cattle section of my ranch supply store .
Have yet to try it with NSAIDs . Man I can't believe I haven't Tryed a NSAID Creme like apricreme .. Will report back on my trials with it .
I've been using a tens unit every night . My right hand doesn't like hi settings and the tendon will cramp up and close my hand painfully . Causing a lot of discomfort don't know if that's bad or not . Should break up scar tissue but leave me soar . It's wierd my left elbow which has golfers worse I can crank the tens no problem where this right one will punish me latter for it .
Also use a rice sock and apply heat and rub it simultaneously .
And use a foam roller from a table seated - to roll my tris and forearm out . Also lotion the forearm and dig them into me knees .
Taking 400mg Ibprophen , fish oil , gluscosimine , 2 iu's of hgh . And did 4 weeks of tb500 .
Hoping to see some light with the DMSO .

where'd you grab the dmso flenser? and you crused up nsaids in it? lmk. very curious about this. been cranking on my tens unit, makes my tendons jump like a mofuka

Yep, you can get it at most feed and animal supply stores if you have one close by.

I prefer shopping on the web if I can and Big D's is a horse/animal supply company. I think they are the largest in the country, huge supply of products and real good prices. Either way works.
 
well it was on the shelf so i bought some ? Ill look online next time if it makes you feel better ;)

used some today, washed arms real good, used the roll on , and tried to keep a saran wrap on for at least 20min, then re washed about 30 min latter. no garlic taste. just a slight warmth on the forearms.
 
The more you sweat with it on the stronger the smell will be. My wife is never thrilled when I emerge from the basement after a tough workout using either DMSO or Blue Lotion.
 
it feels a tad bit like icy hot. not sure yet. but wanting to mix it was aspricreme or something similiar. seems eassier than crushing nsaids up..

everything ive read indicated the DMSO is creat for soft tissue injuries and tendonidis. suprised its not reccommened more honestly.
 
I use this stuff my PT recommended for soft tissue repair/pain relief from Mission called Max Muscle Rehab. It's the best sports gel I have used, pain relief and vitamins all in one.
 
Well, I backed off the weight (a little), started using the DMSO-NSAID mix, and the tens unit on my tendons, and added a lot more icing time (the BIO Freeze didn't seem very effective). I can still feel the elbow pain right after I lift, but it's probably 10% of what it was just 3 days ago. Thanks for the help, DD and everyone.

@tileguy123 I get a lot of cramping with the tens unit as well. I just play with the rate and level until it goes away. I also found reversing the leads can make a difference. I have no idea why, though.
 
yesterday i was able to defeat the tens highest settings on the jump tendon. . fuck yeah let the healing begin Mate!

that DMSO is something else dryed the heal out of my arms last night, but got a painfree back workout in with alot of rows, and movements that can typically set a elbow off.

my elbows are finally to the point, where i know there is still some deep rooted injury, pain when using a knife and cutting board, or putting a lid back on something that is at counter height, but i have to apply forcefull movement to make it hurt now, not like before, and its doesnt hurt during moderate lifts, like no pain on preacher curl hammer machine, no pain from db hammer curls,and no pain from tri cable push downs, or dips. so i think im ahead of the curve 4 months latter.

hoping that the tens and heat, and dmso bring the last of the symptoms to a end
 
I tried light hammer curls this morning, and nope, I still can't do them. That will take some time, I think.

I think the DMSO-NSAID mix is affecting my shoulder as well as my elbows. I normally get some pain doing any flat bench motion, even on the Smith machine which is what I did this morning. But there was no pain at all, none. It felt so different I had trouble concentrating on the lift.
 
it's tendon issues, and stretching will do very little to help that. #1- lgmedsupply.com, order a tens unit for $40 and blast that fucker every night to keep scar tissue down. #2- Buy some bio-freeze to put on there during the day #3- buy some DMSO gel and get yourself some ibuprofen tabs and crush them up with a hammer into a powder, and rub it into your tendons before you go to the gym, its a transdermal pain killing system. #4- Back off any direct tricep work, especially skullcrushers!!! Your triceps will get hit enough through chest workouts to keep size until your healed up more. #5- stick to machines for awhile and focus more on constant muscle tension instead of going heavier. There is no reason you cannot stay big and make gains like this. Work smarter, not harder

Also, this may sound odd, but I have reason, how do you sleep, do you lay on your side on your arms and switch? Because I noticed as I got older, I sleep on my arms, and it aggravates the tendons in my elbows.

also try to limit arm isolation exercises when doing bi's, this will allow ample time for recovery..Use machines or bar movements.. forget ropes. and dumbbells
 
I'm finally able to press (bench, OH, etc) relatively heavy after nearly a year of shoulder issues. I say relatively heavy because I'm only just now hitting around half my old PR on most things. But I'm making rapid gains, adding weight every workout, and not really pushing all that hard.

The thing is, with all the rapid gains my freaking elbow tendons are starting to stay inflamed all the time, especially the triceps tendons just above the elbow. It's bad enough to make loading the bar difficult. Just picking up a plate and raising it to the bar is painful.

I probably already know what everyone will tell me, but is there a way to work around this? Do I need to just back off the weight, or take time off?

My elbows suck, they hurt everyday. Def avoid exercises that aggravate it the most.I use ice and heat when they really flare up. Complaining about it makes me feel better too.

Guarentee if your elbows feel better then your shoulders will start hurting , it always works like that

Mostly on my back these days. If I wake up on my side, odds are I won't be able to turn my head for a couple of days..

Reverse grip pull downs instead of curls ?
I can still do those as long as I keep my hands inside my shoulders. Wide grip screws with my shoulder still.

Elbows have been feeling pretty good the last few days, actually. I think for the most part it is from backing off the weight when pressing, and from switching to mainly machines. I did some seated DB presses this morning, though, and my elbows are a little sore. I didn't notice it at all until I left the gym, but I know what caused it..
 
Sounds like its the DB movements. Im glad to hear that your feeling better, and its funny that you mentioned this because noticed both mine hurting again. I get depressed when this happened, it takes away from my fricken lifts
 
I find elbow pain impacts whole workouts after a while. It seems nearly every exercise to some extent requires thinking about how you are going to adjust the movement to avoid pain. So rather than focussing on good lifts, you think about getting through sets without being worse off than when you started the workout. That shit is taxing on the mind and body
