@gr8whitetrukker most wrestlers have thick necks from getting wrenched on all the time. A good friend of mine was an wrestler in college and he has practically no neck!! It's pretty much natural for him now because I've never once seen him do anything to develop it.
If it was me I would work with the chains and the bridges you mentioned. Developing your traps also helps the neck, so I would also recommend Heavy shrugs (aka Power shrugs).
Another thing I've done when trying to develop a thicker neck is pressing my hand against my forehead and pushing. so my hand is pushing my head backwards and my head is pushing forwards. I would hold the pressure for 15 seconds and then do another angle. This is something I would do througout the day and I felt like it did make a difference. But I still don't have a "wrestlers neck" so take it for what its worth...
