Anyone have Cortisone shots in shoulder?

Getin' Old, & 6 weeks into winter bulk both shoulders were killing me. Like couldn't lift my arm to turn on blinker in truck hurt. Ortho shot 10cc of cortisone into both this AM & told me to take a few days off from gym, and take it easy for a couple more days.
Shoulders are KILLING ME tonight after shots. Anyone have any experience on how long the pain from shots lasts? I couldn't do a light workout right now if I wanted to. Thanks

Couple days... cortisone is no bueno- weakens joints and connective tissue, masks pain when you are doing damage.

Thanks Man. I know... But it has been 9 months, did PT, oral anti inflammatories, & took weeks off from gym w/ no improvement. Had to do something. Appreciate the info & thanks

When it starts hurting again you can go hgh (expensive but effective) or alflutop (pharm grade moderate cost) or tb500 (if real its cheapest but often faked). All viable options.

I know next to nothing about HGH. Not asking you to explain all the principles... I can research, just curious about joint benefits & duration of use for that purpose. If I can "deduce" your age, we are in the same boat on that one. Wish I took better care of myself when I was younger. Catching up with me now. I fight as well, & all the heavy bag work takes a big toal as well.

X-rays show a slight anomaly in shoulder where one of the bones hangs a bit below the level of the other. Doc thinks it is probably causing some friction against tendons and inflammation of bursa. One shoulder is Prob 75% better now and other is Maybe 50%, so overall I am pretty happy so far. Hopefully it lasts

Yeah that's what he said as well, but said to try the shots first. Hoping it works OK. I can deal with the pain like it is now, but if an can't workout going to have to do something.

Had both my shoulders hit with cortisone over the holidays. Dr said X-rays looked ok, with only a couple small bone spurs. He recommended cortisone first, and if doesn't work removal of bone spurs. I got my shots in rear of shoulders and never felt any pain from the shot. Can actually go through most days now with out any oral anti-inflamatories. I'm not 100% yet, but a hell of a lot better then what I was.

Thanks Benny. That about describes my experience as well. Glad I got it done. Relief is noticeable.

I put it off as long as I could, because cortisone scares me in the long run. But as of right now I have no regrets. I was miserable before the shots, and now I can function day to day with out constant pills.

@BigDave I went the cortisone route in an effort to work through pain I was having. It took the pain away and didn't hurt a bit. But it didn't take away the cause of the pain. As a result, I went right back to what I was doing to damage my shoulder and wound up with severe adhesive capsulitis, narrowly avoided a shoulder replacement surgery (Ortho Surgeons advice). I was completely out of action for months. It took intensive drug and physical therapy before I could even wipe my ass with right hand much less start rehab. I wish I had never done it and so does my doctor. I suggest you look for the root cause(s) of you having the pain and address those.
