What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Yeah we don't have any elk NO WHERE around my parts. My uncle goes to Colorado once a year and goes black powder musket hunting and kills elks through. He always gives me a bunch of meat. I love how lean the meat is. I plain on going with him next year. Old school hunting. But then the real work begins, trying to get that thing off the mountain.

My wife hunts muzzle loader. With muzzle loading, you get to hunt earlier in the season, so the weather is typically better. Plus, the elk are in rut and hopefully bugling. Makes for a TON of fun!

I am an archery hunter and get to hunt elk when they are in full rut. The furthest out I have killed an elk is 40 yards. I killed a nice 6 x 6 bull two years back at 27 yards. Have had big bulls charge in at me bugling, screaming, and blowing snot, pissing and shitting all over the place, ready for breed or battle. Have had many cows and calves come in and sniff me. It doesn't get any better than archery hunting for elk.

So what you're saying is that your Robin Hood? Fuck yeah!

Damn I'm gonna have to get one of y'all to take me hunting. I'll return the favor by taking y'all fishing. I plan on becoming a fishing guide when I retire one day. I grew up on a fresh water lake. My folks actually own a camp there still.I actually already invited Boiler and his family to come anytime. But, really I saltwater fish more then I fresh water fish. This past summer I really wanted to get into the saltwater marshes on a low tide and fish for flounder, Trout and Bulls ( red fish ). So I went out and got me a 15' kayak. Boy Y'all can't imagine how much fun it is. I can stand up in my kayak. When I stand up in it on a low tide I can see the backs of big fish and I cast right in front of them. Then its time to sit down and hold on cause a big redfish will drag you around for a good 10-15 mins. I got a GoPro on the back to catch some really cool stuff. I have a bass boat and a jet ski too. For now though this is all I got for saltwater. My arms and back are sore for 3 days after a kayak trip though, especially when its windy.

Damn this is making me wanna call in sink tomorrow. Its actually beautiful day down in the south and would be perfect. Last summer was fun. I always bring my .40 XDM Springfield with me. Well, we have HUGE TX marsh HOGS and I shot one. That was one of the worst days of my life. I had to put that 102 pound monster on the YAK with me and paddle 3 miles upwind back to my truck with it. HAHA Us southern TX boys sure know how to have a good time.
