My abs suck, want a 6 pack

Yes of course you can cherry pick an example of fat women eating excess calories who end up fat. Anyone can do that.

My turn: tell me how one can gain muscle without eating excess calories above their expenditure...don't worry I'll wait.

Another way if reducing bodyfat percentage is by increasing muscle mass in a disproportionate degree. So once again, eating excess calories can lead to fat and muscle gains. If you can of understand this maybe someone else can explain it in simpler terms

Read my statement again...

AND calorie surplus will get you fat also

Protein builds muscle. An excess of calories will perserve muscle as it will turn to glycogen stores for energy instead of the muscle, but protein is what builds muscle, not calories. Excess calories does lead to fat, its a very basic concept. Ever see power lifters that are muscular but are also fat? With that being said you wont get abs if youre eating too many calories.

Title says it all, my abs suck. Granted I'm bulking right now but still even when I'm lean I have no 6 pack and damn it I want one this summer.
What do you all think of these abs routines? (Yah I know it's from bb.com forgive me lol)

I didn't really see my abs until I was 42yrs old..
and I never do situps or crunches...
Pushups and Pullups did it for me..

Slow and steady feeling the muscle work
through the range..
Squeeze the contraction to let the muscle know it's needed to work..

I don't need a good diet with this training

I used to think abs were made in the
kitchen, until I learned that workout can overcome a bad diet..
I learned this the same way I learned that my dick will
keep working even without testosterone and Tren Only... I tried it

train your muscles to soak up the carbs
and watch your abs come out..

After your bulk, just lighten the weight and
add a lot more volume..
Focus on depleting the muscle you're working, of glycogen...

It works and it works well..
I always have abs and I eat everything and barely train,
but when I train, I train right..

Protein has 4 calories per gram hence calories do build muscle. You eat 250 grams of protein? Well the body sees that as 1000calories of energy.

Edit* and carbs are anti-catabolic which will preserve muscle breakdown or proteolysis. Muscle mass gains or losses are a function of total protein stored minus total protein broken down. When you decrease protein breakdown it leads to increased muscular gains in the end so it can also be thought of as carbs help build muscle as well.

Agreed. This is a much better explanation to your point.

It's all bodyfat some folks that burn more subcutaneous fat before visceral fat will notice abs at a higher body fat percentage. My theory from my experience I notice people that have stomachs behind the ribs (like the classic bodybuilder look) have to dial down to lower bodyfat levels. I.e proably burn visceral fat more hence why the stomach goes in and abs don't show as easily.

You can't "train your muscles to soak up the carbs" nor can you target glycogen depletion in a specific muscle. Moreover, the more carbs you're consuming, the more work you are going to have to do to deplete the muscles of glycogen. If the goal is to get or remain lean, consuming excess carbs and then working twice as hard to deplete them is inefficient and to put it bluntly, foolish. Also, while you can eat a poor diet and still progress, if you eat more calories than are burned or used for building muscle, you will get fat. Period. The standard rules don't apply if you're on AAS, but in that case you're not out-training a bad diet; the PEDs are picking up the slack for you.

Frank Zane says he trained abs every day:
http://awesome-body.info/frank-zane-abs-workout/

Only my workout has changed.. nothing else
and when this happened, I started clearly seeing my abs..

I've used high gear low gear, every diet and
every other workout in the books, but not
until I started working the muscles with lighter
weight and not the nervous system with heavy weight,
did I see such a dramatic change..

I don't even need gear for clear abs with this workout..
GETM proved that for me

That's why you have to redirect the carbs/calories..

It works..
You can quote all the theories you want,
but I am living proof it works...
So are many others..

Train like a BBer and not a powerlifter
and watch the fat come off even with your same
high carb diet

Using yourself as an example of directing carbs and calories doesn't work. It's not what's going on. When you train like a bodybuilder, typically higher volume, you burn more calories than with lower volume but higher intensity. All you've shown in this example is that by burning off more calories you can reduce your body fat enough to see your abs.
