For clarification, why would they do this?

I'm sure someone has googled this but from memory I believe that the reason is to keep them chaste. And now of course we get into other cultures which of course means other religions. God forbid, in cases, that a women should enjoy sex and be tempted to stray. If they and the other wives have a duty to their husband they could concentrate on keeping him happy (whenever) and not be distracted by their own desires.

Maybe something happened previously to the photo being taken as the reason for that room. I don't know, say maybe she was disabled for a good half hour unable to walk due to the reason that caused the messy room in the first place?
