A Southern Yankee's Winter Blast

Fuck...

They got me workin the yard mule today. Hate workin saturdays. I could still go later...by probably not. I hate gym crowds. Naturally an introvert. Thats why I like the morning sessions. Quiet and people are respectful in the AM. This week has been bad. I missed 2 workouts :(

Gym crowds suck! I hate see more than 4 cars in the parking lot when I go to my gym.

Be careful on those shoulders...lol

I still haven't been back, still rehabbing
^^ My worst nightmare^^

about 6 weeks ago I knew I was in deep shit with my shoulders, I have no idea what was wrong with them - other than I was about to have to hang it up and see a doc.
Someone posted a link to an article by Dante on dislocation stretches. I now have a short daily regimen and a pre-work out stretch regimen that include dislocation stretching - I have ZERO discomfort in my shoulders now. Not sure if this even applies to what you've @mghoward74 but I cant believe what a difference it has made for me.

What did you do to your shoulder(s)?

Looking for a pinch hitter protein powder for the week. My favorite nutrition shop closed for the weekend. Any suggestions?

Costco is my go-to for whey protein, 4.4lb for $45.00. Very well priced imo and it doesn't taste like cat piss, which is nice.

I don't know if they carry this brand in the states, but this is the one I am talking about. It's the LeanFit brand.

Any reputable brand is fine though, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Whichever brand is the best bang for the buck that tastes good is pretty much my only purchasing guidelines when it comes to buying protein.

Hey huck what's that website with all the powder? I've seen you post it somewhere before. It won't help you right of the bat trukker but I'm thinking about ordering it in from the web going forward...
I remember it being a better deal.

Have you seen the list of companies pinned by the fda for selling bunk whey? Dude it definitely matters. Many of the popular brands are on the list including Arnold's own line

I am aware of this, yes. But it's an unregulated industry, and I trust the grocery store brands more than I do some meathead company being sold in a supplement shop, but I hear what you're saying.

I feel the same way about multivitamins too - I don't take them, but I have more faith in the generic, cheap grocery store brand, that is actually made and manufactured by the same company that makes the Centrum brand (Pfizer). I would choose that over the multi's being sold by BB'ing supplement companies any day.

I'm not familiar with the recent FDA findings, but I did follow the whole 'amino-spiking' incident that the Walmart brand got sued for when everyone was talking about it a few months back. It is worth mentioning that 'amino spiking' is technically / legally allowed and can still be included as dietary protein on a label. The FDA allows this.

Ya WC I dont put much stock in multi vitamins either. I go with Bayer mens 1aday. I figure if its crap science then im not out much $$$. I've seen educated people try to tell me otherwise but I just dont see it. I sure as hell aint dropping $80 on some thing that isnt real tangible

Btw, check out the stores Huck linked above. Both have solid reputations and I know plenty of guys on the boards who use them as their main supplier for protein.

Truenutrition is actually Dante Trudel's company, creator of DC training.

looks like species has issues too. last time I researched species nutrition they had damn good products, not sure what happened.

you can build your own or get premade. I like to build my own. I get the powder and a flavoring. that way I get the highest amount of protein per serving. I buy dextrose separate, that way I can add sugar when I want too.
