meal prep

So I've just started meal prepping for the first time last week. I feel this is a big portion of my intense training regiment Ive slacked on. So it's basically a learning curve for me. Do you guys prep with steak? How do you prepare your fish? Are they both cooked the night before or do you cook them for the entire week. I'm not big on having cooked fish sit in my fridge for a few days before I eat it. Last night I cooked enough chicken, turkey burgers and broccoli for the week. I'll do my sweet potatoes the night before Or even microwave them before work. Can I hear some of your guys prep?

I'm with you on the fish. I don't eat it unless it's just made so I don't really eat it very often. For steak I cook it to rare and cut it up. That way when it's microwaved it's comes out medium-ish, I like it medium rare but close enough. I cook a weeks worth of rice ahead a time and put it in a big Tupperware. I make it a little more wet than it should be and it dries out in the fridge. If you add a little water to 1 cup of cooked rice, put it in a mostly sealed container for 2-3 minutes it comes out great. By little I mean a Tablespoon or so. Another thing I've been doing lately is cooking a bunch of onions, green peppers and celery up ahead of time so I can add it to food for flavor.
I make everything so I can put it together really quick or prepack it in those cheap Gladware containers. 3-5 mins of microwave time and I'm eating. Meal prep for me is key, without it I slack big time on eating.
Nice avatar too, lucky dog

I don't do meal prep personally. I don't eat fish after leftovers the next day. Chicken and steak I'll eat a few days. I just usually make enough of something for dinner that I can take leftovers with me the next day for lunch.

I haven't done meal prep and my diet has been semi clean but now I really want t tighten it down and see what kind of change it brings both in appearance and how I feel overall. I'm getting tired of chicken. Having it 2-3 ×s a day gets old real quick.

I buy Tyson grilled chicken that is already cooked.. It's almost the same price as uncooked chicken. I cook 2-3 lbs of ground beef then ziplock it.. Sometimes I do lean ground turkey with peppers and onions and also ziplock it. It lasts a week in fridge. I don't do fish; if it's not just cooked; I'll pass.

rice is easy to cook in 10 min or I'll make a lot n freeze it. Peanut butter, whey protein and oats and eggs for breakfast. Ezekiel bread and bagels are easy to carry with you..sweet potatoes and potatoes also can be cooked and left in fridge for a week or 2 won't go bad either..

One thing I've been doing is change of seasonings... Kernel seasonings are bad ass; then I discovered bacon seasoning that's life changing. cinnamon on rice is good stuff..

Why don't you switch it up with beef, fish, turkey, etc?

I do turkey, just won't cook fish in advance. The thought of it sitting in my fridge for a day or two makes me cringe. Next week I'll try steak. I just like it cooked medium well and for prep i know it has to be cooked at medium-rare. Will try it though.

They are.. I use them, I use dash and kernel ... All make bland food taste better .. Don't forget the onions, green peppers , mushrooms and tomatoes give food a flavor as well

George foreman to work?? Your spoiled bud..lol... Maybe j can plug one into the truck charger and let it cook while I'm out digging ditches

My buddy buys these precooked meals that a place in our city does. It's all made by a chef and the macros are printed on the container. The foods great, but a little to expensive for me. He's also the owner of the place that I work at, so my income has no comparison.

I would also like to make pre cooked meals but my girlfriend gets really offended if I don't eat what she cooks daily... So if anything I might get fatter doing this :(

Did meal prep last night. Made enough food to cover my work lunch until weds. Cost me around 100.00 for the week. ground turkey, quinoa, 3lbs chicken breast (thin sliced) stir fry steak strips, 3lbs fresh broccoli, sweet potatoes, peppees, onions, and kale. Also bought 5 boxes of the quaker protein oatmeal which will probably only last 3 days And some cottage cheese Before bed. I can really feel the difference eating clean. I imagine my calorie intake will probably be slighlty lower then I'd like but I haven't dropped any weight and just feel better. I ate some McDonald's pancakes yesterday morning and felt groggy as hell a hour later.

Nice job bud. Once you get meal prep dialed in its easy to make small changes in calories or macros. I can really see the effects eating clean has has my workouts in just a couple days. I still fall off the old clean eating wagon but it's easier now to get back on and stay on doing meal prep in advance
